Strategy to obtain US Amex

BOA has been a PITA. I tried applying again within 30 days so that they can use the same hard pull. I have between 5-10K in a checking account with BOA but it hasn't helped. My checking account was setup correctly as a NRA with my residency set in Aus. They can clearly pull my credit report because the letters requesting docs have shown a FICO score.

Both applications ended up with BOA requesting ID docs and payslips. I mailed these documents to them from Aus to see what happens so lets see...
If the application fails, it may be worth trying again in a few months. Their processes are inconsistent.

I applied for a BOA checking account a few months ago. Said I needed to go into branch to prove identity.

Applied again this week after being approved for a Premium Rewards Elite credit card, and was instantly approved for the checking account.

Citi? I've heard Chase being lock happy so they don't recommend having a Chase checking account linked with your credit cards
Chase locked all my accounts and wanted me to come into the branch as I’d used a VPN. The guy at the branch who is opened them with remembered me and got them unlocked. I now use Chase without a VPN for both the app and website. They send me a code via text to my TextNow number and I can get in. I’ve noticed Chase and C1 don’t like VPNs and they know when we’re using them. Citi & Amex are ok atm at least for me. YMMV.

Without visiting a branch ? Remotely ? Checking account ?

Are you applying as an NRA? Didn't think you can apply for a checking account or CC as an NRA?

Realised I typo. I meant apply as an NRA online an ITIN.

Anyone done an Aus to US MR points transfer the last few weeks?

Submitted mine via chat on Nov 26th and hasn’t been processed yet (2.5 weeks)

Went back on chat today and rep said has been submitted to wherever it needs to be and to come back in 2-3 days, even though it is over the 2 weeks guide they provided.

Last year only took about 5 days

Was thinking to have it completed ahead of Aus devaluation tonight, just on the very off chance anything went pear shaped, had time for a Plan B!
