mailing address is for statementsHi everyone, I need some clarification on how HSBC U.S. handles addresses. When setting up or updating details, they ask for 3 different types of addresses:
Does anyone know which one will be used to show up on the bank statements?
- Permanent residential address
- Current residential address
- Mailing address
The reason I ask is that I recently changed all 3 to U.S. addresses so that my statement would display a U.S. address. That worked, but at the same time, I also received a W-8BEN / FATCA documentation request from HSBC.
Has anyone else run into this? Which address should I update if my primary goal is to have my statement display a U.S. address while avoiding unnecessary FATCA triggers in the future?
I am permanently living in Australia, and have never been to US before, and the US address is my friend's address.
Most of us have first 2 aust and last one US for proof of address
