Strategy to obtain US Amex

Hi everyone, I need some clarification on how HSBC U.S. handles addresses. When setting up or updating details, they ask for 3 different types of addresses:
  • Permanent residential address
  • Current residential address
  • Mailing address
Does anyone know which one will be used to show up on the bank statements?

The reason I ask is that I recently changed all 3 to U.S. addresses so that my statement would display a U.S. address. That worked, but at the same time, I also received a W-8BEN / FATCA documentation request from HSBC.

Has anyone else run into this? Which address should I update if my primary goal is to have my statement display a U.S. address while avoiding unnecessary FATCA triggers in the future?

I am permanently living in Australia, and have never been to US before, and the US address is my friend's address.
mailing address is for statements
Most of us have first 2 aust and last one US for proof of address

Applied gold card in private browser with 100K offer, typed random itin number on, then called Amex to fix with my passport instead then got approved with just 60K WB like public only. Can someone please tell me what should I do, what steal did I missed

Call centre just approved you for public offer only. Will not be able to match any higher.

Trying to get rid of the ABP $150 credit and trying to purchase a Microsoft Home 1 year license ... order keeps getting cancelled! Anyway around this? I've used a normal address / tried VPN but still no luck.

Edit - Called through and did a phone order and they sent a quote via email which I paid. They also applied a discount.

Got a 'name and address confirmation' after review of the Amex Card application - WISE statement worked in the past but it seemed to have changed. WISE seemed to have updated their processes so that changing to the US address means ordering the US version of the debit card and cancelling the AU version. A bit complicated compared to a few years ago. No HSBC Premier account so can't go through that method.

Other credit cards and financial institutions also work as methods - but no Chase card yet.

Applied for Ink Biz Cash and recon for almost 1 hour but still got rejected (2nd failed application) with reason I just got a biz card in May - Chase will not be able to approve another one for the same business. Offered to move credit but was not allowed when the card was opened just 4 months. Was told card needs to be 1 year old to be able to move credit. - I did not hear and totally was not aware of this 1 year rule at all.

I knew Chase is trying to cut down on approving many inks but did not know it was this hard to get 2nd Ink.

6M between Inks is the recommendation now. How many Ink/Biz cards do you have?

I was in PUJ for Amex and I kept trying different links for the Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant and finally, oddly enough, the normal Amex website accepted the application without PUJ.

They won't re-send you the link? Try calling recon again and get someone a bit more sympathetic to you.

tried 4 times might try again - said computer wont allow them to resend the link as its failed ID - can present to branch and get banker to do. This is after they send you code to phone to prove verification - crazy
That sucks :( I guess best to wait 30 days and restart.
