Strategy to obtain US Amex

Does anyone know if it’s possible to apply for a second US amex via GT etc if it’s been 4 months after the first GT .but without an ITIN or current open AU Amex ? And if so what is the methodology ?
I did this recently for P2, same process as first GT really except they approved without them needing to call.

From memory you need to wait until you get a FICO score before applying again. That take's ~9months (YMMV). I believe charge cards also take longer compared to a normal credit card. I also don't think you have to apply via GT the second time after getting a FICO as the application is based on your US profile and FICO.

Will one get a FICO score with just one Amex and no ITIN ?

the ironic part is you need to have US ID to set this up

Where are you seeing this?

If you can’t verify your identity online: USPS will send you an email with instructions and a barcode. Bring the email along with acceptable photo ID to a local Post Office location.

That page lists "Passports" as acceptable photo ID, and under the second table, "US or Foreign Passports" are acceptable for USPS Premium Forwarding. It does say you need to prove your address with one of the following through:

  • A lease, mortgage, or deed of trust
  • Voter or vehicle registration card
  • Home or vehicle insurance policy
  • Form I-94, Arrival and Departure Record

I recall some discussion a while back about someone applying for a non-drivers identification card while visiting the US, which would work for this too I think?

I believe only needs to complete online verification for the purpose of doing away with C1 I’d check .

I. E these are the only relevant steps :

  1. Verify your identity: Opt in online to receive a verification code or link on your mobile phone.
  2. Pay the $1.25 identity verification fee. The billing address on your credit card must match either your old or new address.
