Just looking for some guidance. I have started to look at closing some of my US Amex cards as only need the Green and BBP. I have the Business platinum for which I've served 12 months and the AF has just been billed. I went online to cancel it. The online agent suggested I try again during business hours and go through to the retention team. I think $A1K is quite a bit for a card I hardly ever use. Though $US35K in pay over time limit is enticing to keep.
What have been the caliber of retention offers? Is it worth keeping for the line of credit as a "just in case" depending on the retention offer?
If I cancel now, will I get to keep my SUB or risk it being forfeited?
TIA for your help
