Strategy to obtain US Amex

Thanks for the heads up. I'll have a dig around. If I can squeeze more out of my AU MR points, I might as well :)
They take 7 days to process the move from AU MR to US MR. And one of those days they convert your points at FX rate. So if AUD to USD is 0.7 for every 1000 AU MR u get 700 US MR

Thanks for the heads up :)

At current exchange rate works out a little less than 1:1 with US for ‘general’ spend but means can access airline partners which aren’t available in Au MR.

What did you do in the end?

If you decide to cancel the application, can you reapply immediately or do you have to wait before applying again?

Also, If one was to open a HSBC premier account in Australia, do you subsequently need to open a premier account in the US, and then change the address to prove it? Or can you you just change the address in the HSBC AU account and send that???
Every hsbc account contact details are separate .

Hello everyone,

I was about to fill out the Hilton Aspire application, but i thought i better ask :

Under the Total Income question, is there a minimum income requirement for this card ? (Like in Australia where you need to earn at least 75k for a black card)

And did anyone fill out the total assets question ?

And i assume folks here used their Australian passport as the government issued ID ?

Anyone here applied for an ITIN since March 2022?
I've been waiting for almost 4 months now, anyone else waiting on their ITIN?

Some may have received theirs earlier, but I hear of 6-plus months. December application for me and still waiting.

Invitee to apply for curve US . Completed verification. But can’t download app . Any ideas ?

Can you see it in the app store or it doesn't show up at all? What region is your app store set to and have you been able to download other US apps in the past e.g. Amex? (non AU version)

If you're on Android, you can sign in with a second Google account which is set to USA region and download the app that way.

So what is the general timeframe for this if you don’t mind me asking? Set up a HSBC premier account, the. Set up a HSBC US account which takes a week from what I read up thread. Then change the address to the US address and wait a month to generate a statement?

No published minimum income requirement
Nope
Passport issued by another country

Thanks a lot to everyone on this topic.
I finally took the plunge and applied for the Aspire card moments ago.
I was instantly approved with a 5k credit limit. (My Hilton status was updated to Diamond minutes later)

I used my MyUS address and TextNow phone no. on the application form.
(I have been a continuing AMEX member in Australia since 2015)

Now awaiting card delivery.

Thank you Pyusha.

I assume that, just like in Australia, once you get the physical card, you can activate the card online ? And you can enter the Wise account details on the AMEX site ?

Congratulations on your approval. That's correct with activation, this being your first card. Also yes with Wise account.

Yeah American Express is generally great if you have a relationship with them

So applied for a credit limit increase after 3 months of keeping my AmEx Cash Magnet and got denied. The reason came back as "no credit score available".
Anyone had experience getting a limit increase on their AmEx card before they get their FICO score?

I have a Hilton Aspire that is got in January thanks to the advice on this forum. It all went exactly to plan

I am thinking of adding my wife as a Supplementary card holder.

Mine was sent by Courier and so avoided the USPS hassles that other people have described with cards that aren't sent by Courier

Will my wife's also be sent by Courier because of the type of card or is it sent normal post because it's a Supplementary card?

Thanks
