There’s no transferring of cards, as such. You can keep your current Amex Oz cards, or close them if you wish.

Your relationship/history with Amex in Oz is what counts, when applying for a US Amex card using GT.

I seem to recall someone saying at least 6 months, but maybe someone else has more information. But haven’t you had an Oz Amex since 2012?

Number of cards added to Apple Pay. Seems there's a limit of 4 or 5 cards. Try removing another one and then try adding the Gold.
That's not right. Any models after iPhone 8 and beyond support 12 cards on Apple Pay (previous ones only 8). And the iPhone 13 pro has a new limit of 16 cards, which is really great for cardaholics.

I've tried Transferwise and Citibank, and both methods are working. I also got Revolut account. However, it's not working for me. I tried to transfer to the AMEX account in Chase bank, but it never shows up there. After 2 to 3 weeks, the money went back to my revolut account. Am I doing anything wrong with Revolut?
Perhaps. Have you contacted Revolut? And did they fix your problem? I'm a happy customer with Revolut, which I find has possibly the best rate among all, better than Wise, not to mention Citi or HSBC (they both allow you to do real-time cross-border transfers between same-name accounts but the exchange rate kinda sucks). Wise's US account comes really handy though; once you link it to Amex US for bill payment, it shows the bank name as EVOLVE BANK AND TRUST.

Hi there,

Newbie here, just wondering if there is any possible way to apply AAdvantage Credit Card here in AU. I mean, do we really need to provide SSN via online application?

Hi all,

I have held the Hilton Surpass Card since late February and just noticed my FICO score has appeared. Does having a FICO score improve chances of approval with future applications given I don't have ITIN or SSN? I'm looking at trying to apply for the no annual fee Hilton card via GT in the coming months.

It sure does, in-fact its not a good idea to rush in for your 2nd Amex card until the FICO appears. So you should be good to go now.

When applying using GT, it’s your relationship with Oz Amex (including Oz credit history) that counts. Most who apply using GT would not have an established credit history in the US anyway.

There have been past posts upthread advising that only 1 x GT is allowed by Amex, and that further card applications will need be by using SSN/ITIN. However, I have had the Aspire (by GT) for almost 2 years, followed by the fee-free Hilton card in June this year (another GT). I did not go down the FICO path when applying for the second card.

I am planning to visit the US next year or 2023.

And would like to open a bank account there. Apart from the passport and drivers license, will
the bank ask for an ITIN too ?

Just checked my Amex app and noticed that my FICO score has just appeared too. Opened a Bonvoy Brilliant in late Jan.

Time to figure out what to do with this! Have people opened up MR program cards (e.g. the gold or platinum cards) in the US and transferred their MR points over for the better transfer rate to airlines (even after the exchange rate)?

Excellent! That means mine shouldn't be too far away. I kinda jumped the gun and got lucky...received an email saying that AMEX increased my credit limit on my aspire so I tried my hand at applying for the Surpass (180k bp offer) and the Amex Gold (For the Love of Restaurants Offer - 75k points and 20% back at restaurants until $250). It got stuck because it wanted a tax form in the absence of an SSN, but I called them up and gave them my ITIN and they were able to approve me for both! The AMEX Gold offer on now is epic so highly recommend fellow flyers apply for this.

Just curious about the MYUS forwarding address - it looks like the type of service where you are assigned a 'suite number'. For example,
To MGR03
Suite 12345
123 Circular Way
Burbank, CA

Is this the case? I'm not desperately interested in a US Amex but would like a UK one. I have a (proper) UK phone number and note that MYUS also offers UK addresses

Clicked on the Global Transfer Link and it wants a UK address.

I have scanned almost the entire thread and everybody seems to have had success with the MYUS account - just surprised that's all? Banks and CC providers don't usually accept these kind of addresses. Or is it stronger fraud protection in the UK than US?

Just curious about people's experiences.

Keen to give it a go but don't want to look like a numpty in the process

When logged into your Oz Amex account>Moving Broad?>United States (or UK, etc)

Also, regarding MyUS, it is not listed as a mail forwarder, with the USPS in the U.S.A., at least. 😀

Contrary to the experience of many others AMEX didn't accept MyUS for me to provide the first card, I was able to change it to that for a replacement card. I needed to give my friend's address for a physical.
