Do you get a paper statement or only email and have to register internet online banking to get statement?
When I signed up today it said something like 'Signing up to this card means you are accepting to only receive email statements and registering for online banking...'

Same condition when I signed up. Eventually received a paper statement, but no email notification that it was available in the online banking.

Rang them and told can have one or other and free.
Also told I had existing online banking from past card.
Only back not to send statement attached in email have to go into online banking via security number and password....

Has anyone had success in applying for this with less than a $15k limit?

I don't think this is possible.

You might be able to apply and then have the limit reduced to less than $15,000. But they may also offer a different product to you instead.

It won't let you proceed unless you've selected 15k minimum.

My application:
Conditionally approved 3 days ago, was able to login to newly set up online banking
2 days ago got an email "Your contact details have changed for online banking"
I am now unable to login to online banking, even after resetting my password.

Trouble brewing...

I was conditionally approved, texted "status" to their automated number, was told application was unsuccessful, was meant to receive a letter within 5-7 business days outlining reason and that was Feb 1. No letter arrived yet.

Ive seen others upthread mention that bad news followed them texting asking for status update.

Therefore, I'm going to bury my head in the sand and wait for a bit, not texting

Picked up the courage. text...got rejected. Called and they confirmed it but added "Hmmm, have you been a StG customer before??"
me: "no"
them: "Hmm ok"
me: "Did my income get verified?"
them: "Yep that came through thats all fine"
Other than that they didn't divulge much else...

Anyway, I moved on to another deal as soon as I hung up and am happy to say that I've been approved. ;)

Did they verify your address with you?

I never got the letter. THeir system is messed up. They don't use the address you've entered in the application. They used my address from almost 10 years ago o_O

No letter, no sign (yet) of a hard enquiry either. lol

My experience:

Applied for this on Tuesday. Uploaded documents immediately - would have done the online pay verification but NAB (my bank) was not listed as an option so had to PDF payslips and bank statements showing rental.
Got a text message Wednesday morning saying they need more info and to check my email. Checked my inbox - no such email.
Rang the applications hotline, and advised I need my most current statement dated as of that day. Advised them I'd have to order it from NAB as they release statements every quarter.
Tried to upload the new bank statement this morning but system would not allow me. Had a hunch that they've either denied or approved me.
Before I had a chance to ring up, got email confirmation of full approval and cards on the way
One minute later, got email from Bank of SA saying my contact details have changed. I used to have a Bank SA card years ago.

Here's hoping that A. the approval is accurate and my card is indeed on its way and B. it turns up at the right address.
Because, as other have intimated, their IT systems are a mess.

EDIT - Looks like this offer has been extended to 10 April! Good news for those serving exclusion periods - or who are waiting for some time to pass to let their credit scores recover before taking the plunge ;)

Any idea that if I was a previous supplementary cardholder (within the past 12 months), would I be eligible for the sign-up bonus? I'm hoping yes as I was not the primary account holder.

Good to go.

Good to go.

Cheers!

My partner and I just got confused when he went to activate his card (as the previous supplementary cardholder) and they were asking him about his usage of his previous Bank of Melbourne account.

I had also just called the bank and confirmed that as he was not the liability holder of the previous account, he is good to go.

I should add, it would be great if their terms and conditions stipulated these terms rather than just saying 'previous card holder.'

Applied for this card for my wife.
StG rang her to seek mortgage details.
I'd put the mortgage payments on the application, and StG actually hold the mortgage and our bank a/c we pay it out of and have done for 10 years

I have been thinking of applying for this card for my husband. But after reading all this I am not sure it is worth the hassle.
