If I'm not mistaken I believe that status lasts a minimum of 12 months unless you qualify for a higher status.

Therefore, if I want to make the most of my status renewal, when is the best time?

For example, if my status is re-assessed on 31/12/2013 and I go from Gold to Silver for 01/01/2014 onwards. If I requalify for Gold on 31/01/2014; will I be awarded Gold for 11mths until 31/12/2014 or will I be awarded Gold for 23mths until (31/12/2015)?

Thanks in advance.

Re: Status Upgrade Min Length

Assuming you're talking about QFF:

As soon as you qualify for a higher status you get it for the remainder of the current membership year, plus the following membership year.
If you requalify at the same level you get it for the following membership year - but since you already had it for the current year you're not getting "bonus" time at that level, just an extra 12 months.

So in short timing can be beneficial the first time you qualify, but not after that.

Re: Status Upgrade Min Length

When you get an upgrade in Qantas status your new level lasts for the remainder of your current membership year and for the next membership year.

In the example provided 23 months at the higher status is entirely possible.

Concur with the others, with that example you would have SG until at least 31/12/2015 ...
