Now that QF is giving status credit for classic rewards - just wondering if it is worth doing a status run on the 140k reward?
Frequent Flyer - Member Specials - Qantas Classic Awards - Status Credit Offer

I understand that you'll still need to include 2 OW partners, so to minimise the distance travelled, can we do something like HKG-KUL on CX and KUL-SIN on MH

I know that most here would not even think of doing this, but just for fun, what is the maximum SC one can get?

Cheers

Does the that rtw fare count towards the SC promotion? Thought it was only for classic awards on QF metal. Would be great if you could do a status run though!

Something like akl-syd-dxb-lhr-dxb-mel-hkg-pvg-syd-akl with one TT flight on LA and CX to PVG.

Not sure many here would like such punishment however.

I don't think it would count - the offer is only for classic awards on QF code. You can only get classic awards on QF code on QF metal - eg if you book a classic award on Emirates or Cathay, it is always an EK or CX code.

That is correct, so am thinking of minimising the distance travelled on OW partners, such as the one I suggested KUL-SIN on MH
The rest of the flights will be on QF code & metal - that should earn SC, rite?

I thought about this a few days ago. You'd get a maximum of 14 sectors on QF, say average of 20 SCs, gives you 280 SCs. After adding the surcharges I decided that a JASA would be easier and better value.

Would something like AKL-SYD-ADL-PER-DRW-ASP-CNS-BNE-MEL-HKG-BKK-SIN-SYD-AKL be possible? It would yield 430 SCs with double SCs and you still have another 3 segments to use. Substitute LAX for AKL and your SCs earn would be higher.

You wouldnt need to pay for food and drink and schedule a few overnight flights and your accommodation is also sorted.

The only punishment there would be the Middle East transit.
