Hey guys,

I've got the Dbl SC offer too. :)

:?: CAN ANYONE HELP WITH THIS PLEASE????????

I'd like to do the NAN status run BUT I'm living/starting in MEL. Do I need to repos to BNE first for the ~$1300 fare?

(or am i limited to MEL-SYD-NAN-SYD-MEL?)

THanks!!

More than likely, yes. Beginning and ending in BNE will get you a better fare.

I'm not sure what's happening, but the QF website isn't listing J class to Nadi? There's not even a J class column that says "no seats"?

I can see it ok (random July date selected) if this is what you mean plus I get return on the following Monday fine as well ...

I am not seeing that; I get to select from Economy[/PE]/Business[/First] before clicking "[Go]"

Struggling to use your Frequent Flyer Points?

Frequent Flyer Concierge takes the hard work out of finding award availability and redeeming your frequent flyer or credit card points for flights.

Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, the Frequent Flyer Concierge team at Frequent Flyer Concierge will help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

They dropped off at just the wrong time for me! :-(

I'm heading to Townsville tomorrow morning instead ready to do some SC runs next week - thought I was going to have a nice quiet few days there - until I discovered that the V8's were on! Oh well. Would have much preferred Fiji though!

BTW what happens if you cancel a JASA? Do you lose the points and taxes paid or do you get the points credited and taxes as a QF credit for another booking? I'm still thinking of changing plans and going to Fiji tomorrow instead - wanted peace and quiet not V8 supercars!

You get back the points and cash, just takes a long time at present, up to 4 weeks for both!

hello,
looks like i will do a TSV ADL run. just a question on return flight back to BNE which leaves 40mins after arriving back in TSV.

can anyone tell me if these are operated by the same plane and therefore I dont need to be concerned about the minimal time between the two flights? Also how do you find that out? inside knowledge or is there a public resource ?

thanks

QF generally operate the same plane back to BNE that did the outbound leg, in fact BNE is the only destination served by QF mainline Jets ex TSV.

I'm still waiting for QF to credit the double SC's for flights from as far back as July 9th - looks like I will be waiting the full six weeks at this rate! Does anyone know if they go back and recalculate your status bonus on flights that would be in a higher QFF status if the double SC's had been awarded on the date that the flights were taken?

Nothing like leaving it to the (near) last minute. Due to my poor planning, not to mention decision making, I couldn't get tsv - adl with position flight for reasonable amount of points and or $ cost. So I ended up with what I think is a rather similar outcome. Heres what I booked :

Wed : bne - syd - hba
Thurs : hba - mel - adl - bne - tsv - bne

this should net me 360 SC and about 10k QFF points for about 96k and $400ish

While the TSV BNE ADL option certainly is great value for SC, I just couldn't make it work with with positioning flights as well so I am relatively happy with this option.

Next time I am in ADL for work I will def take advantage of that albiet not under the double SC anymore.

Hope I make all my connections!

:p - I'm finally doing the Status run.

mel-bne rtn this weekend (dbl SC points)... (BNE -MEL will actually be the first leg of the trip to NAN)

mel-syd-nan rtn on Thursday August 4th
(with mel-bne postponed until December to coincide with the AUS v NZ test match)

As I'm only SG, I was wondering if there are any WPs out there that would invite me into F lounge in SYD next Thursday??

Let me know... pretty please....

Q on bookings for NAN flights

From reading this thread, I understand that the BNE-MEL-SYD-NAN leg should be booked under multi-city in QF Australian website (J class now showing $765, should earn 180SC). I did a test booking for this leg and it worked OK. And, that the NAN-SYD-MEL-BNE leg should be booked in the QF Fiji website for about FJD970. However, I could not replicate the booking for this leg on the Fiji website because there is no multi-city available. If I put in NAN-BNE then I got the direct flight or via SYD, but not via SYD and MEL. Could someone please point me in the right direction? Many thanks.

grave dig :)

I'm up for recalculation and i'm 70sc's short of silver requalification. I've left this as long as possible to see if i was let go another year etc.. but nothing. Next year is going to involve an insane amount of flying (adl-syd-adl once a fortnight), so i'd rather start off on silver for advance seat selection etc.. and hopefully get to gold under my own steam (well, i will haha).

Thinking of grabbing syd-mel-syd for 80sc's (36k points + $120 or so).

Would this be an effective use of points/cash or can someone else suggest something?

Cheers

I'm no expert on these things but you could consider going to somewhere that gives you 15 points in Y class and then the return in J for 60 more. ADL and HBA would fit. I guess it depends where you want to spend the time.
