I have been a member of Frequent Flyer for 7 years, only Silver status. Currently have 350 status credits which expire May 2006 which are due to be reassessed May 2006. (?) My 4 year old daughter has been a member 4 years, Gold status. Currently has 870 status credits which expire May 2006 due to be reassessed Jan 2007.

We fly Brs-Sg-Fr return twice a year. Can anyone please tell me how it is possible that she reached Gold 3 years before me when we have always flown together? FF were of no help. Any suggestions of what to do about it?

Hi SPazz :)
Welcome, Welcome, Welcome.

Im no expert, but worth a reply at 2.00am EDST.

The number of years you have been a member, doesn't come into it. The SC's are based on a 1 year period, from your anniversary date.

Now Brs-Sg-Fr what do you mean by this? If were talking Brs = BNE (Brisbane) - Sg=SIN (Singapore) - Fr=CDG (France) , then a discount economy ticket will get you 140sc return.

If this is right, then 140 X 2 = 280sc and if there is a 1/2 trip posted before anniversary date then 70sc, this gets you to 350sc.

I have no idea why your daughter SC's have carried throughout the years.
Maybe QF have some type of child program... I don't know.

Something else maybe if you go on packages, then QF have restrictions on points with these. Maybe your getting none and your daughter get full QFF points.

The only way your going to find out is checking both QFF statements and matching up the flights to see what has or hasn't posted, and the differences between the 2.

My only concern would be having my daughter pick 1 parent to take into the QC. Or trying to convince the QC staff that you are a guest of a 4 y/o Gold FF.

Either way, once you find out what happened, QFF are usually very helpful in fixing problems. But its better to explain this in an email than trying on the phone, if its complicated.

Very hard to tell without being able to view both your accounts...but robertz has covered it off well.

Look back over the past 12 months flying (for your daughter)- from 1 June 2004 to 30 May 2005 (as this period of flying got her Gold). Is it possible that she has had 3 trips credited in this period...or did you both get upgraded to Business on one trip and her's posted as Business Class flights whilst yours posted as Economy.

It's possible your 4YO old has been flying on Full Economy tickets which for a 4YO come at a 50% discount in price. On the other hand your travel would have been discount economy.

These child discounted fares still earn full SC's while any discount economy travel you do earn disc SC's; the prices may be similar.

Another thing: Was any of your travel on award tickets at the same time as your 4YO was travelling with you on 50% discount Y tickets. This would alos go a long way to make you situation occur.

There is one obvious difference in the accounts that could explain it.

Your membership year runs from 1 June to 31 May whilst hers runs from 1 Feb to 31 Jan

Have you done travel with her this year during the period 1 Feb to 31 May since this would have been in you previous years status credit accrual period whilst in her current one

On rare occasions another FF's activity has been recorded in my account. There may be a similar explanation for you daughter's points.
