Hi guys,

I'm flying Melbourne to Dublin in a few months Premium economy with Virgin.
Just trying to work out how many status credits I will get.
The route is MEL>SYD>AUH>DUB.

Just trying to figure out how many status credits I will earn. Looking at the table, it seems I should get 120 from MEL>AUH in PE, then either 30 or 60 for the economy leg on Etihad. Is this classes as Full fare or discount economy? Will the MEL>SYD trip gets credits?

Thanks for any help.

I think I read that if you book it all in one, i..e MEL>DUB, with the stops included, as opposed to booking separate flights for each leg, then you will receive points for the entire journey.

My calculations below sorta show why you'd want to do this :P

Essentially 1/3 of the journey is in economy. So they will pay the PE rate from MEL>DUB? (of course, it would result in more points if separating, but as 1/3 is Y, it should be?).

Flights are already booked (at a great rate a while ago), so can't book with Etihad now.

"I thought the via segments not counting is only for domestic." -- does this mean that each segment is calculated separately (MEL>AUH, AUH>DUB)?

SYD - AUH - LHR in J gave me 160 and 120, so PE based on that would be 120 and 90, or 60 if in Economy for the second leg.

I would assume you would also get something from MEL - SYD.
