Hi All,

Just wondering why you don't get status credits on QF 'alligned' carriers? Have just booked a J seat via the QF website MEL-SIN-DEL rtn. MEL-SIN is on QF, and SIN-DEL is on Jet (9W). But according to the the QF website, I'll only get FF points and not status credits. I know Jet are not a oneworld carrier but was just curious?

Cheers,

Dave

You get J miles but no SC. The Lounges are ordinary, but the onboard service - when you finally get onto the aircraft - is good. At one stage I though that we were driving from BOM to AUH!

That's pretty much the answer. It's Qantas + other oneworld + (Jetstar/QFLink/AirPacific) that earn SC's.

Other partners don't.

Hi All,

I believe it's a contractual thing with the oneworld alliance. i.e. Status can only be earned on oneworld flight numbers/metal that are eligible to earn points.¹

If you look at the airline earning table you'll notice the airlines that earn SC's are oneworld members.

Star Alliance is similar.

¹ For all publicly available bookings, if a flight is not eligible to earn FF points then it is not eligible to earn SC's.

Why don't you change to the QF codeshare flights (normally slightly more expensive) if you need the SCs?

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Was the flight marked as a QF flight number or 9W? It might say operated by Jet but have the codeshare flight number

I was actually pretty sure I did book the QF flight numbers, but when I checked the e-tkt they emailed through it had the 9W designation (but I made the booking a couple of weeks ago and was in a rush so could have mis-read the flight numbers I guess).

And thought about CX (flew them last time) but wanted to avoid the extra time in the air as am only there for 2 days ....

Thanks for everyones replies!
