How many points do you have/where are you located?Hey,
I'm currently a qantas platinum FF and need to do a status credit run or two to retain my membership, I currently have 400 and need another 700 by July the 29th. If any one could pls help it would be much appreciated.
There is a possibility I will not have to pay the $$$ for all the status credits as I travel a lot for work which will cover the cost... Though I will still need to do a run or two to make I obtain the required creditsAre you sure its worth the $$$ to try retain Platinum give you are so far off?
700 SCs doesn't strike me as a run or two...
Plat would fall to gold which still gives QF club accessAre you planning any sig O* travel that you need the recognition for? Otherwise you could just purchase QP membership...
So how many SC's will you need from your SC run? There is a possibility I will not have to pay the $$$ for all the status credits as I travel a lot for work which will cover the cost... Though I will still need to do a run or two to make I obtain the required credits
Thought there is no change of the SC earning for flights within Asia?If you are going to Asia before 30 June then look at MH or CX.
Something like BKK-KUL-HKG in MH business class earns 280 SCs and MNL-HKG-SIN in CX business class also earns 280 SCs.
It changes slightly from 01 July.
Most people are aware of the US changes, but there are flights in Asia too that are affected by the new thresholds. The changes mostly affects flights in that 750 mile bracket and forces them into the lesser earning category. MNL-HKG is less than 750, and BKK-KUL is borderline 750 according to GCM.Thought there is no change of the SC earning for flights within Asia?
