I haven’t run into a limit. I put $100,000 each into two cards recently and their computer accepts it. Often it takes one extra day for the funds to arrive which can be annoying.
Having two adult sons is enough for us thanks SOPOOR so no need to send adoption papers......
I did create a little problem for myself by putting sons girlfriends in as redemption nominees on SQ so I have continued to do this. It was probably a mistake but Mrscove likes me doing those bookings as long as she gets first class when she flies long haul.

I think it is a great card for really high spenders, but for low spenders it is still better to churn cards. I am in 2 minds whether to keep this card or just cut it and get another card.

If St George decide to eliminate FX fees for this card I will keep this card for good. I currently have the Coles MasterCard for this purpose.

Has anyone switched from one program to another Amplify Rewards/Qantas) and got the birthday bonus? If so, was it only for the one program currently enrolled?

Does this card still have an exclusion period and if so how long? I will have to find out when I closed this card previously.

Are you able to sell or transfer on the Qantas lounge passes now that they're electronically issued?

Definitely. 12 months.

'Existing customers who currently hold an Amplify Platinum or Amplify Signature card, or who have held one in the last 12 months, are not eligible for this offer. '

Yes.

Speaking of Qantas passes.. Mrs tizeys woes with this card continue.

Try to redeem the two Qantas passes.. website says it's not a valid amplify signature card... Despite being one. Call centre no help, and I just want the passes so we can cancel the card.

Anyone else having troubles?

Is it linked to Amplify Rewards or Amplify Qantas? ie what type of reward points are being earned?

Qantas points - since inception. 90k Qantas points have been received plus spend points too.

Interestingly I logged on to internet banking and there was an option to close your account. That was super handy, I've always had to call other banks before.

The closing account functionality must be implemented by financial institutions online by 1 January as part of new legislation, so some banks are implementing it sooner - which is great.

It is also on my Westpac internet banking, so once I see the bonus points for this I'm happy there's no need to call up customer service reps to cancel.

Westpac also has a similar option. Has been available for at least 2 months that I am aware of. That option allows you to select from about 5 different reasons for account closure.

The passes & points hit my account yesterday and I cancelled online. Blissfully easy - although I did receive 3x "we're sorry to see you go" confirmation emails. But I'd rather be spammed with those than have to deal with the call center!

I prefer to call as they may offer some retention offers before canceling my card.

Banks will have to watch the way they try retention with new legislation, once you say cancel they will have to process it.

Not necessarily an improvement from my perspective. I quite like the offers sometimes offered to retain my business

The reason for all the legislation changes though aren't directed at churners and people who pay off their card balance monthly.

I really have no issue with any of the upcoming changes, even this one.

Fourth family application lodged this week. This card is a keeper.
