$15K is the minimum credit level I believe.

Got inspired by Dr Ralph and applied. Was instantly approved, subject to verification of pay slips which I immediately sent through. Muito obrigado!

Bit surprised because I just got accepted for an ANZ Black this week and my credit score is in the low 500s. I think this is it for me until the new FY.

I was approved by accidentally inflated my yearly gross income by about 2.5%. I'm hoping that's not going to be a problem.

Aren't you just allowing for that pay increase that's coming your way? Or if self employed then you have to allow for inflation and growth, right?

Only if they ask for proof.

My wife was asked for payslips, this week, as was I, 9 months back. (It was time to do the tag-team churn on this card by my wife and I. )

Just passing 400,000 Amplify Points and this CC is running ok. I don’t plan to cut it but my 3M titanium bladed scissors will be used on cards that have lost their points earning capability.

I think it is perfectly acceptable. Nobody knows their exact gross income in the current year (you know your annual income once you finish your tax return, and the ATO agrees with you). I always declare my annual income less than what’s shown in my payslip, never got any question as they must assume that I can salary sacrify for the remaining of the financial year. The same for inflating income, you don’t know if you would pick up some casual work later.

I don't think that is how the banks will view it....I believe that they are only concerned by what you do know and you can provide evidence of if queried.

But yes 2.5% is a small margin and so they may not worry.

Often I do not get queried. Sometimes I do.

Weirdly I used to get queried more when I have included my full other income (share dividends etc) and even though my wage income alone was well above that required for a particular card they would ask for proof of the other income. So these days I leave that off and just show my wage income.

I find the focus on supplementary income incredibly frustrating. It almost nixed a number of previous credit card applications, despite my salary being well above that required. Now I don't even bother including it.

Mrscove’s application is conditionally approved but she needs to supply a 2017 ATO tax assessment when the accountant gets it filed and assessed. The 2016 tax assessment was too old and they didn’t accept the quarterlies and the superannuation surcharge assessment that was inside the time limit. Mrscove says she isn’t worried by the delay.

This is an area that I find frustrating.

The largest part of my income is a pension from my smsf. The banks insist on talking to my accountant who of course doesn't see my pension as it is tax exempt. So then they ask for the pension statement but won't except the 2016 documents, insisting on seeing the 2017 docs, which of course have not been completed yet.

I only get a small window between the smsf annual report being completed and the start of the new financial year in July when they will ask for the 2018 documents!

So Mrscove isn’t an orphan then with the documentation. She is a landlord/landlady for a big chunk of her income plus dividends and distributions. We don’t bother now in drawing a salary seeing the superannuation limit has been reached.

I might have to apply for this card for myself and +1....
