This will be my fourth St George card, they've never paid the points quickly.
I spoke to St George this morning regarding bonus points (I got my card and spent $5k on 5/12/17). According to them, points can take up to 12 weeks after the end of the bonus period, so can take up to 24 weeks to pay from card issue date.

I'll be interested to see how many points I eventually get (60k or 90k): I applied on 25/11, conditionally approved on 28/11, final approval 2/12, card received 5/12.

If that is the case then it is quite clearly against the T&C's people signed up to...

*Available when you apply for a new Amplify Signature card between 26 February and 18 April 2018. Eligible purchases do not include BPAY or BPAY equivalent transactions, fees, cash, cash equivalent transactions, refunds and balance transfers debited from the card account. The bonus points will be credited to your points balance within 12 weeks after the eligible spend criteria is met.

What is the 'bonus period'? Is this the period during which the promotion is available? If so, and they keep extending it as per today, then we will never get our bonus points.

I'd suggest you were given duff information but in the event that you weren't, get Dr Ralph's proforma letter ready for a breach of contract.

. ... According to them, points can take up to 12 weeks after the end of the bonus period, so can take up to 24 weeks to pay from card issue date ...

From the current T&C:

“... The bonus points will be credited to your points balance within 12 weeks after the eligible spend criteria is met ...”

It’s not from the end of the promo period. The 12 weeks starts once the $5000 spend has been made.

This is not correct. Looks like St George don't know the terms of their own offer. The terms clearly state:

'The bonus points will be credited to your points balance within 12 weeks after the eligible spend criteria is met.'

Therefore it's 12 weeks after you reach the $5000 spend requirement NOT 12 weeks after the end of the bonus period. I spent my $5000 on day one of receiving the card. I require the points to be awarded no later than 12 weeks from that date. if this does not occur then St George will be in breach of contract.

I'll start drafting my letter now...more free points coming hopefully :)

Coriander, it's entirely up to you, but if it were me I'd be sending them a letter stating that they have breached the terms of their offer as they clearly have exceeded the stated 12 weeks in your situation. In that letter I'd be stating without any ambiguity that you regard this as a breach of a condition of the contract and require them to award the points without further delay and refund the entire annual fee as damages.

Ha. That's a funny one, St George.

I wrote to them a week ago telling them I'd met the spend and giving them the final date (12 weeks post) at which I expected the points to be in my account.

Seems I'm back up and running. After automatic rejection due to bank error, then reapply and verification via pay slips, card was issued and activated, to be blocked pending further verification of salary via bank statements (yes, after card was issued and activated).

Anyone having trouble getting the run around, don't hesitate to make a complaint to their customer experience team. They'll push the narrow with back office much harder than were able to from here .

This one has become my favourite Visa CC.
Waiting (im)patiently for my card to arrive to start the 5K spend. +1s card arrived last Tuesday and we used it to buy some GCs :)

It’s ok kpc I will try hard to make a few Amplify Points this weekend so their points computer will be warmed up for your QF point entries.

Gday

I successfully applied and got an email saying it it would be sent to my local branch for collection. One minute later i got an sms saying they will mail it out. Which one is correct?

Pele.

You'll have to wait and see or call them to confirm if you wish.

Can you please provide a source for this? Mrs tizey doesnt meet this income figure, but was approved for this card using payslips as proof of income. She's not massively less, but definitely less than this.

Not wanting to be pain about it, but I couldnt find a strict income requirement when I looked, so if there is - please share as someone else may find it helpful.

Very interesting! Anyone been approved at around 60k with a good credit rating???

I got the $75k figure from where I get nearly all my good oil - ozbargain.

There's an extensive thread on that site about this card.

In my experience the income figure is not often clearly stated. I'd say around $75K is a fair guess, but I'd certainly want to see it on the St George website to confirm it. I'd also add that OzBargain is renowned for getting these types of details wrong. What I've seen in the past is that someone invents a figure and other just accept it.

How strict are STG on the 12 month waiting period between cards? I cancelled my last on May 4th 2017.
Sorry if this question has been answered previously.
