For MEL-FRA or MEL-MUC flying in J what are recommended flights in terms of day/night flying and stopover time in Sin?
The A380 connection from Mel has only 50 mins in Sin? And seems to be then late arrival into FRA with daytime sleeping?
I prefer to fly overnight.
Onward journey to Athens next day so would probably need 1 night near airport.
Are you talking of cash or reward flights?2 questions as a SQ newbie if I may please
1. Flights I have been looking at SIN-HKT-SIN have gone up, though if I book 2 one ways, it is a few hundred $ cheaper - any downside to this?
2. Another scenario, is there an issue with doing seperate tickets, J one way and Y the other?
Cash @kamchatsky (edited to add that, thanks)Ar

No issue buying two one ways. The only thing with two one ways is for destinations that require an onwards or return ticket, it’s not obvious that you have the return… so you may be asked to show it.Cash @kamchatsky (edited to add that, thanks)
Flew JQ business last week. One area they really put SQ to shame is the desserts. (Probably the only area,, but then again the lamb shank I had was also quite good)
Lunch came with "Delicate orange & almond cake", light meal came with " Creamy mango cheesecake". Whilst they were boxed, they were quite delicious, quite moist and easy to consume. If they'd been plated, with a coulis and some berries, would be quite spectacular, better than any of the dried out chaff SQ serves as dessert in business class. SQ are just a bit too Singaporean sometimes (i.e seafood appetizers and woefully unimaginative, often inedible desserts. Desserts seem to be something that a lot of Singaporeans don't care much for).
Although, that's a bit unfair, wander around Kampong Glam and there are some amazing small businesses with all sorts of imaginative desserts - these just don't make their way into the uber-conservative SQ.
I've always enjoyed the post dessert chocolates. And ask for a couple of extras...SIN-MEL the best dessert was a scoop of vanilla ice cream..... Of course it was rock hard and took 20 mins to be soft enough to start eating but it was OK. Took the fruit with it as well

Guess my June 2027 flights will be ol' school style....Sigh

Confirmed: Singapore Airlines' new First and Business Class seats delayed to 2027 - The MileLion
SIA's next-generation cabin products won't debut this year after all, as supply chain delays and certification issues push the first retrofitted A350-900 into 2027.milelion.com
Makes sense since SQ said a few days ago that Starlink won't start until 2027 and also still no airtcraft out of service for refits
Another year to wait it seems
The product on SQ is still great though, given it's age, flying 3 A350's recently even the older one 9V-SMF which is 9 years old, everything worked perfectly!
Flying a brand new Air France A350 in J, the only real benefit was wireless charging, wireless headphones and a bigger/better quality/HD TV., but I still prefer SQ
