SQ Tips, Trips and Tales

Ah, @Cruiser Elite - you know how to make a man happy! Where did you source the BP from? SIN T3 Transfer Desk?
How good does it look when it's prim and proper like that?
O/n SIN outbound or inbound then checkin for 2nd sector at FC checkin - they print them automatically for you and hand you the hand written in GOLD ink your TPR Invitation.

Perth still giving those nice heavy stock Invites. Cant remember if it was a gold pen tho, because it finished up in the bin.

Not bothered whether there's a personally addressed card. Modern times mean yr BP or phone does the job. My gripe is that I hv had 3 TPR chances in the last few months and not made any of them. Dont you hate SQ efficiency when they allow 50 min connxs, your inbound flt is 30 mins late and so you hv to leg it direct to the next gate., no passing go, no shower, no TPR'ing. Grrr..

I understand your view on TPR invites but it’s not all about ME ME ME - first time or occasional SQ R or F pax just adore these and mostly keep for souvenirs and to show their friends and family - a couple others here will chime as to just how much they cherish them.

I also totally understand your frustration with short connections and go out of my way to always avoid them. Nowadays with flts to / from China or to EU 100% book flts with o/n connections - way too old to miss the chance of TPR

Has anyone had any luck changing a reward flight online? Or is a phone call necessary? I want to go on the earlier flight (which is available) and understand I will need to pay a change fee but the change option on the app is greyed out. I am assuming a phone call is needed but thought I would check in case I am missing something?

Or if you can get the chatbot window to appear on the contact page, it is another way - ask for an agent. The wait and/or incompetence might be better, might be worse.
I'm a bit supporter of the KrisBot - fire it up, type "agent", join the queue (if there is one) and get typing away. The agents there, in my experience, have always been extremely helpful and professional.

I've used it for things as simple as seat assignments, to complex changes such as flight changes.

Have a go - there's nothing to lose!

Good luck!

Bulkhead seat on SQ J in 350/380 - one of life's pleasures that one can't get enough of.
Get me 11A/K or 19A/K on 350 (MH, LH, ULR, doesn't matter) or 11A/K or 91A/K or 96A/K on 380 and I'm a happy man - happy couple if in D/F on either of above configs.
Indeed my favourite J seat is 96D/F on 380 - it's not really a "double bed" as the seatmap alludes to, however it's about as good J class gets without getting into F/R.
Looking forward to 96D/F on the 380 on SQ326 later this year - gonna be amazing!

Fabulous flt on 217 so far today - Crew superb as always - best J meal I have had since resumption flts post Covid:

Except for the salmon - I don’t do salmon - something fishy about it 👍

But I was brought up in the bush in a family of 11 kids - we always had >1,000 sheep and hundreds cows wandering the paddocks - the old man would kill a lamb a week min to feed us so lamb chops was the staple diet - so if I see lamb chops available on SQ it’s an auto select:

Now please get past the fact that the BTC option ‘Herb Crusted Lamb Chops’ appear that they have been dusted with clippings from the old Kooyong Lawn Tennis Courts - these were superb 👍

When we were eating chops as kids the job was never done til the bones were stripped 👍

Looking at Sydney to London with Singapore, just curious if they have sales ? Or ? In business
Husband has been through Singapore airport numerous times (with QANTAS ) but I haven't managed a flight that has a layover at changai airport lol. So for a last planned hurrah to London for a Xmas (obviously not this year ) just looking at deals.
This will be one of two of our "guaranteed" trips to occur . Others may or may not happen

Cruiser, is everyone else getting their dinner table properly laid out like yours? On our recent trip to Copenhagen and home from Brussels, 3 flights had a table cloth and then a tray table placed on top. This was a change to previous trips and I thought it was disappointing.

100% as picture shows - i have not seen what you are describing since ‘back to normal’ post Covid

Edit: Just checked with Crew - yes tray service is indeed a thing depending on dest and flt timing - lunch or dinner should be fully set - supper = trays - EU dests with 2 meal service is usually 1 tray + 1 fully set - very brief convo as we are descending - hope that helps 👍

Thanks for checking. Departing Copenhagen and Brussels, there’s no “book the cook”. Maybe there’s a connection with tray table service.
