SQ Tips, Trips and Tales

Having a weird issue with redemption nominees.
It's not letting me delete some which are over 6 months old.
Couple are from 2017 and even those are greyed out so I can't tick them to delete them....

It's working as it's letting me delete 1 of them since 2021 but I don't want to delete that one.

Anyone else had similar issues?

Just wondering if anyone has been keeping an eye on business class redemptions from BCN-SIN (well, SYD but via SIN, and it's the BCN-SIN leg that seems to be the issue)? Have flights booked to Europe for next August and looking to come back from BCN, but there are no available seats after 4th September.

Any ideas why this could be, when flights from CDG and LHR have plenty of advantage availability through to the 25th, and even watching the new flights become available at 11am this morning, there was no saver, let alone advantage (keen to get advantage for a stopover on the way back)?

thanks in advance!

We will be flying SYD-SIN-LHR in Suites for the first time in February. Our SYD-SIN flight on SQ222 departs at 1610. Usually check in opens 3 hours before departure. If we were to arrive while the earlier SQ232 that departs at 1215 is still open for check in is it likely that SQ will allow us to check in early so we can have more time in the F lounge?

The SQ F SYD lounge is quite small. Arriving before the SQ232 check-in closes will give you a very very long time in that very small lounge. I’d say that checking in for your flight at opening and going straight to the lounge would be sufficient time. Even allowing for a time before boarding to stretch your legs with some window shopping. 🙂

Thanks get me outta here. We'll do that.

Didn’t SQ offer all day check-in prior to Covid?

Edit: SQ web site now displaying checkin for flts dep SYD open 4hrs pre dep - no idea if this actually the case - no doubt someone can check this when dep SYD and can confirm or advise otherwise

Got the same problem with flights out of MXP even on the days the flight does not originate in BCN.

Odd... I did see that when I searched for MXP as a departure point. Something weird going on there for sure. Well, for now i'm going to book from AMS as flights are available from there. Little bit more stuffing around but if it means I can lock a ticket in...

Hopefully they'll get their act together and stop misplacing luggage. They may even get to welcoming back all the flights they couldn't cater for due to tightened security and laying off of bag handlers 😁

Maybe should post in another thread but ask here anyway.

CNX-SIN-BNE booked on SQ website but first flight is SQ codeshare on Scoot we don't have to pay for luggage etc?

Our fare includes 30kg but I am also Velocity Gold so in theory get 45kgs which will be enough for luggage and golf clubs?

FWIW in July the MEL SK lounge temporarily closed after the departure of the SQ flight around 10am. Pax on other airlines were directed to the NZ lounge. That would be consistent with checkin not being available all day. Not sure if it has changed since then.

I believe there are no SQ Velocity benefits when travelling on flights not operated by SQ.

So, no extra allowance. Morever you wont earn points or SC's on Scoot operated flights.

Sorry for confusing post - I was specifically referring to SYD - MEL never has had all day checkin and yes MEL SKL has always closed between flts outside checkin times

So even though this is an SQ booking I will have to pay extra on Scoot flight?

I'll need to try organise and maximise 3 x 30kg checked luggage and 3 x 7kg carry on luggage.

so they deleted the nominee over the phone without any issues within 5min.
they have escalated the website issue internally

redeemed a few more trips for 2023.. now only ~18k KF expiring in Jan 2023.... from 1.5mil.. phew!

J 787 vs A350 medium haul - from my research 787 the better choice because you lay straight instead of diagonal. That most peoples thoughts or should I aim for A350?

Can anyone help with what time the SilverKris lounge in Changi starts to fill up - we are on SQ 231 leaving at 12.45am - thanks

We were recently on Sq 26 that leaves at 23.55pm. We arrived around 90 min prior. Space was hard to find if you turned right on entry but the area in the direction of the showers was less busy
