SQ Tips, Trips and Tales

suites. 12/14. also denied amenity kit on FRA-SIN leg as had received on JFK-FRA leg. or something. Wife got the 2nd kit after I asked for it but they said they didn't have any more male ones.

my BTC was not acknowledged on either flight too.

thankfully they managed to get the 2 cakes i ordered right for birthday/honeymoon - although the second wasn't served due to some sort of miscommunication so is currently in the fridge here - could be worse as we managed only a 1/4 of the one on the first leg!

What sort of cake did you get? I'm going for my honeymoon, albeit nearly 10 months after the fact. Do you just email SQ requesting a cake? Never really know how that worked.

Talking of jarmies, will I get them on day flts to SIN if I ask politely, or just the next flt to LHR and the return via ZRH? I don't wish to seem greedy, but I actually am.
gmoh no need to ask as there is a set policy. Sleeper suits and amenity kit will be provided for all long haul flts which is 7hr or longer.

Sleeper suits and amenity kits will be provided on some short haul night time flts - short haul that qualify for this are 3.5 to 7hrs - night time is 18:00 to 06:00.

With flts where 2 sectors are connected to/fro SIN like JFK-FRA-SIN or SIN-NRT-LAX you will receive sleeper suits on both sectors but amenity kit only on first sector. So say MEL-SIN-NRT-LAX or JFK-FRA-SIN-SYD you bounty will be 3 sleeper suits and 2 amenity kits.

Now having said all that as others have mentioned these sleeper suits are far too heavy to sleep in so I always BYO jarmies and save all sleeper suits to give away to old folks / half way houses back in MEL.

I always collect female amenity kits as Cruierette gives them away to teachers she comes across who have a passion for trying to enrich the lives of underprivileged children from extremely unfortunate backgrounds and go above and beyond the norm- just a little reward she gives for their efforts. The new female Salvatore Ferragamo amenity kits are just gorgeous.

Yep just email the feedback address requesting. We also saw a couple receive one on our SIN-MLE flight in Y.

First was pineapple sponge

Second some sort of passion fruit/ chocolate layered

Don't really know if I can handle that much food in F/R. Despite snacks being offered on board, I never felt the need to order anything extra between the main meals.

Do they these special cakes but on a smaller scale? e.g. alter/add message to normal dessert as part of one of the main meals?

My thoughts exactly - flying SYD - SIN - DEL with my partner on her birthday next month and I'd rather feast on lobsters than on sponge cakes :)

I think something special like a hand-written note from the captain would be far more effective...

Lol would they make up the double bed with roses in a shape of a heart? or maybe a bottle of Dom/Krug would be better? I actually wouldn't mind that last option.

Does anyone (CE?) know if there's a limit to how many waitlists you can have open?

I'm trying desperately to get my parents CBR-IST-CBR in J (Dec/Jan – I know!), with a stopover of any length in SIN (up to 3 days).

They're pretty flexible, so I was thinking I'd set up waitlists for every possible option. Is this smart?

Absolutely no limit on number of waitlists - waitlist to your little hearts desire.

Well that's good news! I'm going to go harass someone at the KF call centre now.

I found they can check availability over multiple dates much quicker than I can so I'm totally doing it that way from now on.

I think 'night time' for the purposes of short flights is something like arriving or departing between 0100 and 0600 - rather than 1800? That was always the published rule, I haven't been able to find any reference lately though.

SQ were not going to design 2 different F seats or indeed a stretched F for 773 - one standard of identical seats on both 773 and 77W?

For the prices they charge a 'stretched' 773 seat was entirely possible - although I suppose they originally intended them to be on shorter flights where maybe the bed was not such an important issue? They have however been on the flights to Australia for some time.

CX has slightly different J class seats for their A330 and 777W aircraft - same seat just slightly different dimensions IIRC.

TBH I thought it was later too - but info direct from IFS reading from his 'cheat sheet' onboard today.

Their phone app can check over multiple dates for saver awards too. Too bad the website can't. Makes checking for saver awards very tedious and tiresome

just be careful, sometimes the mobile app comes up with phantom or wrong availability - but as a place to start your search I agree its better than the website

Thanks for all that Cruiser, I will have quite the bounty.

Btw, is a sleeper suit similar to what Jed Clampett would've worn, you know all in one with buttons from clavicle to crotch?

hummel.. long way yes but will put up with it.:D Really looking forward to my first F flight... Having my 16yr daughter with me, after not seeing her for 6 weeks will suit me perfectly...
