SQ service reductions during May

Bugger is a naughty word?

Can't be too much of a naughty word otherwise the site dirty word catcher would have deleted/replaced it.

Some time ago, I tried to use a 5 letter word that is often used to describe female dogs (referring to some people complain a lot) and got edited and chastised.

Just rushing out the door, but I heard SQ new has cancelled some CBR flights. Still not quite my dates but it’s getting there.

SQ208 MEL-SIN cancelled on my date, flying next week. Told to logon to see what I can do, can't manage it online - must call contact centre.

Return points & taxes, just sick of being on hold with airlines at the moment!

I havent even tried to phone SQ yet, Im wondering how many hours it will take because trying to cancel online, they want me credit card to invoice me $125

I had an award booking to CDG which was cancelled and asked for the options SQ was willing to offer.

Just received an open dated ticket extended for a journey to be completed by 31 Mar 21.

I would prefer to fly a bit later in the year and will try contacting them again.

Our SYD>SIN flight for April 29th has been cancelled but not our SIN>JNB

Tomorrow I will do the online form to cancel, have points returned because like I posted above, if I try to do it myself I have to pay $125pp to get my points back

Whether is online, or submitting a form will they not want the $75 US redeposit fee? (Edit did a trial run and fee is $125 AUD)

(I have flights out on 2 April and back on 19 April that I am yet to cancel, as I keep hoping that they will).

Ours - out 6th May and back 21st May .... still scheduled. Waiting for the cancellation notification which surely is only a matter of time.

I certainly had an interesting experience with SQ yesterday - my oldest (20) is flying back from AMS-SIN on SQ323 tomorrow and they cancelled the 9:30ish service SIN-SYD about 20 minutes after I confirmed the original flights online. What followed was the better part of 5 hours on-hold with SQ trying to sort it out, but we managed to get them booked on SQ221, which looks like one of the few (or only) SIN-SYD each day. The first agent I spoke to was going to sort it all out, put me on hold and never came back! Quite a trying day, although I wasn't really frustrated at SQ, as I've only found their customer service to be exceptional in the past --- it's just complete bedlam right now.

(I've also just had about 3 J flights cancelled on SQ in mid-April SYD-AMS return, which is expected)

We each used two old suites each today to get to London. All the customer servicing staff on board now have to wear masks which they change 4 hourly since 7th March.

You still there? Last place I would want to be.

More updates / cancellations on their Facebook site. Too many to post

Spent 5 hours on hold, 5 separate phone calls, each cut off at the 1hr 12 min mark.... and yet to speak to anyone at SQ.

SQ212 cancelled for today week - don't want a credit as won't be using it in future, but no idea how / if I can get a refund. May have to ring credit card company and see if they will do a charge back.

Fyi the cut-off is not actually a call disconnection from what I can tell but it's just cessation of back ground music --- I actually had my call answered 5 mins after the music went silent last week - I was SO surprised when I heard a voice as I was about to hang up the phone!

What is the difference between an open dated ticket, or redepositing the points back into your account?
Is there an advantage once you choose new dates?

I was sent an email with the flights listed with this at the bottom of the page.

Open dated ticket extended for journey to be completed by 31Mar21 due covid19.

I have emailed asking for points to be reinstated as I'm now not sure when I want to travel. My last email to SQ took over a week for a reply.

All short-term visitors barred from entering or transiting in Singapore from Monday, 11.59pm

Well that should at last cause my April MEL - Koh Samui return flights to be cancelled. (Note I was not going, but just waiting for them to cancel rather than myself cancelling).

That's not great news, but it certainly is if you're waiting on SQ to cancel flights. That should be the last nail in the coffin for our suite flights to London and back in May.

Im relieved I encouraged my 20 year old to leave europe yesterday as she flew from sin today.
