Hi everyone,

I'm travelling Perth to Singapore in J this Thursday for a couple of days, and was wondering if anyone knows the answers to these questions:

1) Can I bring a guest in who's travelling in Y? I cannot find access rules on the SQ website other than them saying if you're flying business you are welcome in the lounge.

2) The website says the lounge opens for SQ224 from 0530-0740 only. Given my SQ224 flight departs at 0630, does anyone know if these times are out of date? I just want to grab some brekky pre-flight - surely the lounge doesn't open only 30 minutes prior to boarding?

3) How late can I leave it to get to the airport with only carry on baggage? I can't remember the last time I took such an early flight out of Perth so can't remember if it's busy busy. I was thinking of aiming to get there around 0500-0515.

Many thanks!

That SQ lounge is quite small in Perth so it gets crowded very quickly. You will get breakfast on the plane so there is no need to worry although I do generally eat something there and drink a bottle of water.

Hopefully it won't be too busy with only one flight departing at that time. How many more *Gold passengers or PPS club members could there be in addition to the (potential) 36 J passengers?!

I know I'll obviously get a meal on the plane, but I can't go for too long in the mornings without some food in my belly. Waiting for 3 hours from the time of waking up is a bridge too far :)

I suspect the lounge opening times are out of date as the lounge should open when check-in does which for SQ would be 3 hours before departure. They close 40 mins before the flight departs.

Every SQ flight in J I've taken out of MEL I've been in the lounge within about 15 minutes of arriving at the airport (everything was super quick) so I think arriving 75-90 mins before the flight leaves should be fine. The earlier you arrive the better seat you'll get in the lounge.

The lounge will announce boarding (as the lounge closes at the same time).

It was mentioned 'have to be a revenue customer', does this mean awards business class flights aren't allowed lounge access?
Again from the *A website

  • Revenue ticket/customer: All customers excluding airline staff. Customers travelling on discounted fares, frequent flyer award tickets or upgrades are considered revenue customers and are included as revenue customers. Airline employees flying on free or service charge tickets, or Industry Discount (e.g., ID50. ID75, ID90) tickets are not considered revenue customers

I tend to get to the Perth SQ lounge at least 90 minutes before they start loading the 777 and the lounge has always been open.

Was searching to find out what lounge I use for a VA flight to DPS. Came across this thread and found the information here - Worldwide SilverKris Lounges to be useful in terms of opening hours.

In summary two hours prior to departure for the VA flights.
