Would love to know peoples thoughts on if CX or SQ had a better Premium Economy product?

Ive been both and I think the SQ service was better and I prefer Changi to HKIA when transiting but I found the seat awkward, firm and uncomfortable!

Whilst CX seat I found a bit better softer seats for sleeping etc but very average service in fact purely economy service just the bigger chair barely saw the crew all the way to London.

SO would love to know from those who have been both what your opinion is??

Just arrived back in Oz on CX 163 in its 'Premium Economy' platform.

It's worth mentioning that my partner and I virtually always travel in Business, paid or on award tickets, but in this case had to buy a 'one off' 'one way' ticket back from HKG and I couldn't face the $5k business fine.

At $1,700 premium economy seemed like good value.

The seats were reasonable, the food adequate, drinks in fair supply and the crew absolutely fine and fun.

Most impressed!

PRG, I’m interested how CX are doing the meals these days. I flew Premium on CX (preferred HK to SG for transiting) in 2012, they had just released their new Premium product & at the time it was getting very good reviews; but the meals weren’t so great, they’d advertised having two of the three J options but the food arrived as Y-style slop in a foil disposable take-away container. So the name was the same, but I doubt the meal content in J was what I was eating. I got stabby/killy cutlery, though, and recall the booze options as being pretty good (and the IFE options pretty good).

Forg, the meals were fine...but just 'airline food'. We were in the back row and I had to toss a coin with the other back row guy to 'win' the prawn curry so I guess your 'option' comment is valid. Didn't worry me...the overall experience was 'above expectations'.

We would get consistently good feedback on SQ and consistently poor feedback on CX. If you're just after some more legroom, then CX because it will more than likely be cheaper. But then you could also just buy an exit row seat in Economy.
