last week

I was there a couple of times last week at MEL and enjoyed the Laksa thoroughly. They also had the mixed veg curry, which was nice bonus. 2 vego items in one day ... too bad they didn't have plain white rice for the curry. Had to use a sourdough slice instead.

I’m through there most weeks and tbh I’ve found myself gravitating toward the standard dishes at the buffet. I’d appreciate a few new options like a simple stir fry.

Agree. I was there today and found that the most disappointing dish in quite some time. The chicken itself was okay enough but the rest... yeah, it was not a winner for me.

It’s still better than SYD but has definitely gone backward in recent times. I didn’t bother with either of the above options today.

Laksa is the only time I eat tofu! At least there’s chook in it today.

I got ripped off the other day with my wonton soup - I only got 3 wontons!!! LOL

still tasty though. I decided to avoid the laksa after spilling it on my shirt the last time !! LOL

Tofu-free zone today: Doenjang grilled pork or Kimchi fried rice, both with stir fry greens. Latter decidedly better than the former.

I’ve concluded that some the dishes there are intended or at least lend themselves to being pimped up to taste at the nearby condiments section. Anyone who’s done any Asian cookery can “fix” some of the blanded down offerings.
