It appeared open for business yesterday afternoon with a full compliment of staff on site.

At least the front coffee shop was open on Friday evening, 28 Feb when I drove past. Seemed to have doorman and reception staff on deck.

Friday was the soft opening with SPG staff, vendors, etc staying to test out the hotel and it's functionality.
Monday 3rd was the first day of real paying guests arriving and today (Tuesday) is the official opening with the ribbon cutting ceremony taking place about 8.30am this morning with the Mayor of Brisbane, a TV news crew and other VIP's in attendance. Apparently there is a small segment on the channel 7 news tonight.

Was meant to open yesterday 3rd March....anyone stayed yet....any reports from actual guests. My inaugural stay will be on Friday

Comfortable enough beds, block out blinds are fantastic (however with building going on next door it's still quite loud in the rooms), impressive food and beverage. A nice addition to BNE and the Starwood brand.

Thanks for the update

Had a stay there on Friday night, 4 days since opened.
Check-in went smooth, took a little bit long but staff still a little nervous. Up to the room, had a corner room first impressions were "gosh this is tiny" and it was IMHO but it slowly grew on me and once I turned on the lights and opened the flimsy curtains it was sufficient for 1 or 2 people. The automatic block out curtains turned the room jet black even in the middle of the afternoon.
Unfortunatly the bed side clock had not been set so I assume I was the first person to have been checked into this room since it opened and it was one of those I-pod docky things that takes a masters degree in mechanical engineering to alter, so that took about half an hour to get the correct time on display and needless to say the radio came on at full volume at 2.30am which was just peachy.
Everything was nice and clean which you would have expected after only being open for 4 days so cant make any comment on this side of things.
Check out was quick and easy with the staff handling things like old pros and only thing went wrong was they lost my car and took them about 15 minutes to find but no other hassles.
Only down side was.... the noise from the construction site, and this will be a problem for 2 or 3 years to come. When I arrived at 2.30pm on Friday you could not hear the receptionist at the front desk while checking in but ceased at around 3.30pm when they finished working but started up again at 7.00am on sat morning. This was not a problem for me but I am sure it would be problematic for many.

Overall, I would give the place an 8.5 out of 10 with the noise the only downside.
Would I go back.......I have canceled all my other Accor bookings for the next few months and re-booked at the Four points, so the answer is yes

Its a bit of a strange design, I would have though they would optimize the river views. I can see the hotel from my balcony and that does not appear to be the case.

I was on level 10 (out of 30) and could only see a view of the city through a small area. Once the buiding goes up next door there will be only a view of a building wall not more than 10 meters away. went to the gym on floor 30 and there was a river view but not real great. Being in the middle of the city all the other surrounding buildings will continue to block the river views.

I am at Kangaroo Point and can see the hotel and the top 15 floors, so reasonable views are possible.

Unfortunately all line of sight to the river will be obliterated from the 4Pts as the 111+222 project goes up ..... given that any long term view considerations were not a key design driver. 222 Margret will have a 5 star hotel component and dependant on it elevation in that project you could expect some good views from there in due course.

Very good point, I forgot about that. It will be interesting to see who gets the contract for that hotel!
