Yes the area was quite green. The tour guide said that they are in what he calls a green drought. They’ve had enough winter rain to green things up but are still technically in drought.

Just on the ferry now and the trip home is looking pretty rough. Storms are around us and the seas have picked up considerably. Luckily we had a fairly good day. Cloudy but very little rain.

Lucky we went to KI yesterday. All the morning sailings have been cancelled today due to strong winds and big seas.

It is blowing a gale in Adelaide today. Quite unusual for this time of the year.

It’s funny because I have lived in the Barossa region for the majority of life so know many involved in the industry and yet I reckon we only visit the wineries maybe once or twice every couple of years usually when friends or rellies stay with us

Exactly right about the weather especially on KI

After the Remarkables we stopped for lunch but can’t remember where! There was nothing much there apart from the restaurant but food was good. We then headed to Admirals Arch to see the long nosed fur seals. We were up on the boardwalk so the seals were hard to photograph.

This fella had a tough trek to get to his hidey hole!

Last stop on the KI trip was at the Wildlife Park where we got to feed the Kangaroo Island Kangaroos plus get up close with some koalas. The kangaroos are a sub species of the Western Grey but have adapted to the KI terrain and are shorter, stockier and darker and have more fur for the colder winters.

If you look closely at the second koala pic you’ll see a joey. I’ve already mentioned the ferry trip back which was quite rough and lots of sick people. It was about 11:30 pm but the time we got to our apartment so a very long day.

Looks like an amazing trip - as someone who's lived in Adelaide for my whole life, I can confirm you're definitely experiencing a lot of the best things Adelaide has to offer. A very cool itinerary! Enjoy
