I'm in the process of booking a BKK-SGN-BKK flight for next March. Basically I checked Bangkok Air, Vietnam Airlines and Air Asia.

PG comes in at $255, VN at $277 and FD at $130 (with bags - all AUD). I figured the small difference between FD and PG was worth paying so I was going to book it, then thought that Jetstar Pacific might also fly the route. So I checked and yes its there, but it lists the flight with a "BL" code (I'm guessing this is the J* Pacific code?) and "Operated by Bangkok Airways" with the flight times the same as PG. Oddly though, it comes in at $110 return!

Can this possibly be right? I wasn't even aware Jetstar were codesharing with PG (especially given PG is marketed as "Boutique"). Anyone tried this before?

Well I booked it. $234 for two people, BKK-SGN-BKK on what will turn out to be Bangkok Air. Can't argue with that!

Should have known it wouldn't work out... got an email from Bangkok Air last night (not related to this booking, just my usual promos from them) advising they will be cancelling all BKK-SGN flights from 26th October.

Now I'll no doubt have to spend months fighting with Jetstar to get a refund once they accept that the flights are actually cancelled (they're still selling tickets).

I managed to beat this end of service with PG by 2 days.

It priced $304 AUD for 2 pax one way.

Shame you did not get what you were quoted. It sounds like a steal.

Somehow hopefully they simply get you a ticket on another airline... lets just wait and see i guess.
