Just in case, i should point out it is most definitely not a luxury car.Model Y Performance.
Yes, but with envy. Most would nod to one another and say " ***** alfa"![]()
Neither is the AMG TBH, it is disappointing in quality. The only really good part of the car is the engine. I am happy with the Tesla after an extended test period.Just in case, i should point out it is most definitely not a luxury car.![]()

Welcome to AFF @DasColonel . They say the AMG is likely to be GLC 63V8 is likely to be collectable.Neither is the AMG TBH, it is disappointing in quality. The only really good part of the car is the engine. I am happy with the Tesla after an extended test period.
All really depends on your definition of luxury. It's certainly more luxurious than a base CorollaJust in case, i should point out it is most definitely not a luxury car.![]()
I should add for those that don't know that vegan leather is essentially vinyl.
Thank you @prozac - If it turns out to be collectable, so be it. If it lasts that long. The car has as many squeaks and rattles as a 25 year old commodore, but I guess they are now collectable too.Welcome to AFF @DasColonel . They say the AMG is likely to be GLC 63V8 is likely to be collectable.
Some nice cars there. I have been giving half a thought to the bittsa MGRV8. Any thoughts? I keep coming back to Morgans but there are some maintenance issues to consider.I only chime to this thread every now and again. Sure I have owned MG's an 'A' then upgraded to the 'B' 72 flow through, and at one point was given my sisters car to fix, a MGB 68. I still have a 48 Riley 2.5 and will most likely get the 28 9hp that my brother does not want.
Fast forward many years, I am now after a lotus. I mentioned to my beloved (wife) that the the ground hight to roof top was around 1.1m or there about. I was informed that will not happen, we are to old. Go figure, as this old boy can still get in and out of a Lotus.
No i was comparing Tesla with Merc per the original post. It's certainly more luxurious than a base Corolla

But Tesla with their spartan interior focus, limited model differentiation or option list, certainly have less premium bits. And only vegan leather.
Note DasColonel is sticking with a European made car (current Tesla Y P in Australia comes from the Berlin factory, all other Aus models from Shanghai, only S/X and 3s until 2020 came from Fremont).
Minor problems actuallyFrom this report, the German made Tesla Y has quality problems too.
Not many AMG's become collectable and the handful that do have mostly been Black Series. The rest keep depreciating due to the way the Germans over engineered things that require way too much labour to repair.Thank you @prozac - If it turns out to be collectable, so be it. I am well aware of the RV8, I have often have considered buying one. They only came in BRG however I have seen some that have changed colour over time (be it sprayed/ restored) I am a fan of the original config being BRG and the tan interior, if up to me I would import one from Japan if it was correct. Some nice cars there. Hence why I called it a bittsa. I believe some body panels are Rover. Thanks for the tip re spark plugs. It is said the P76 V8 were the better V8. The aussie V8 had a strnger bottom end.I am well aware of the RV8, I have often have considered buying one. I do have some hesitations about the MG with a v8 motor even if it was the 3.5 rover. I had a friend with an original GT V8 and another who swapped out the donk to an original V8 (from a GT) into a convertible and spent a lot getting the chassis strengthened. Both mentioned if changing spark plugs it was easier to pull the engine out.
The RV8 was a bit unique as it was built with left over parts and bodies. If memory serves me correctly and after chatting with my dad, at some point in the 1990’s or early 2000s there was a company in the UK who purchased the original plans and moulds and for a while punched out MGB bodies as if they came off the production line in the 60s and 70s. Not sure if that company is still around.
