So... what car do you guys drive when not flying?

I bought a new car a month ago and it was the same as my previous one, and the one before that too. Except this one is one version up as it’s a demonstrator and was cheaper than the new one of the base model.

This is the key drop box for Hadley’s hotel.

I’d have loved a demo but it was black. I don’t do black 😂. But the car I bought was the one I drove for a test so 🤷‍♀️. It’s only got 100 on mileage. It’s got the Monte Carlo badging. Like current one.

But I don’t like the engine shutoff when stopped. We live in an area of busy roundabouts. Needing fast take off. I’ll be mostly disabling it

The Skoda autostop reactivates very quickly, it seems to read the traffic. The Mazda istop on the other hand....I usually lightly depress the brake so it doesn't activate and I can take off as soon as possible.

Isn't there a little button on the console you can turn it off? It does turn on each new ignition but I've also read there's a setting in the settings 😂

At roundabouts I need it to read the gaps! It did cause me a little panic on one roundabout near us as I couldn't accelerate as much as I'd prefer there.

On Mazda you can turn off iStop (I have left it on as I'm mainly highway travel) and also 'lane assist'. I turn that off.

New car has heads up display. Didn't like it at first, but gotten used to it.

That throws into the windscreen? MrP loves it. The Skoda has virtual display. Don't think it throws it to the windscreen though.

Mazda you have to turn off every time you start the car. I've just learnt not to press the brake hard enough for it to kick in. But love my heads up display.

Just wear polaroid sunglasses and you can't see the HUD.

I just bought a new car. It is identical in every way to my exisiting car which I love. But 10 years younger so all the modern stuff like rear view cameras and AirPlay. Collect it next Thursday. I’m changing the plates over also as I own them.

Did you order a tow bar? It has been over 12 months for us and they still can't get the loom to talk to the C-BUS, they have had a Skoda with an issue for over 18 months.

Our VW loom works all the trailer lights, but throws out a warning light when connected. VW, Skoda, Audi, Seat and others all part of VAG/

FWIW.. I think your problem is poor form for VW.. not that they will care much what we think...
All the Euro's have backs to the wall from the Chinese and the future looks bleak

What would I do with a tow bar except jackknife the trailer. 😂. The boat is MrPs job.

Is the warning light something to do with simply warning that you have something close to the bumper but can be safely ignored? His Tiguan used to do that.

Vag group cars monitor for a trailer connection and change the vehicle management parameters when a trailer is connected .
Changes include engine management ,transmission management , safety features and camera's….

Most Chinese cars do the same, including limiting the use of cruise control with a trailer connected and speed limiting to 100

I mentioned the tow bar because I know you have a boat. :)

Erika used the trailer the most with the old car, but I had to reverse it for her.

Some photos from Austria this morning, most on my camera.
