Did BNE-MEL-CBR-MEL-BNE on thur in flexi for 200SCs. Requalified for Gold 6 months early. All SCs have posted.

It will be an awesome lounge when it's finished .

Just got in . Left home at 5.30am , in the door at 8.15pm ...damn that was a long day . I don't think i will be rushing to do 4 sectors again in a day . All flights on time , not a hitch . Managed 2 fly aheads with no problems , which actually shortened my day by 2 hours. Had a shadow on all flights . Row 3 or 4 for all flights except 1 , which was a fly ahead , got exit row 13 which ended up being a double shadow , when the 2 crew moved down the back . Scored 2 x E190 , which by far i prefer over the 738's , although the 738's are a winner with the live streaming . Back into again in 2 weeks , although its just a BNE rtn

gwilli1, I feel like I'm you, just 2 hours ahead. 

Today am doing BNE-MEL-OOL-SYD-BNE.

MEL lounge still a WIP, but the new section is great. I can tell this will become my favourite lounge in the network, yes even better than OOL.

I hear you. First time I've done this and 4 sectors is big. Left home at 4:45am, and unfortunately had to take a QF flight back to BNE, so sitting in the QC waiting for the last flight out. No 'fly ahead' in QF land unfortunately.

2 of the 3 VA flights were on the old DJ livery aircraft (one actually in Pac Blue colours), both with non operational L2A. Although being in row 3, it did not affect me either way.

Well, am no longer a status run virgin.

I found out about the EY status match (thanks puppysparkes!) this morning just before I left for the airport. I did wonder for a second if I should cancel my booking but here I am after breakfast at the VA lounge in BNE, lunch on the flight to DPS and dinner at the EK lounge in SIN, with a new status on the way...

SC's and points posted correctly yesterday from Sunday's flights. 160 SC's for just over $500, happy with that.

The EY Status match is offline now though right? unless you applied before the 8th/9th right?

DSC from Sunday night has posted this morning, very impressed with how quickly it was done. Hassle-free!

Hi there,

Quick newbie question as just getting into the ff qorld. How do you book SYD-OOL-MEL-OOL-SYD? I can't find a way on the website and on what are the fares based? Syd-Melb return?

We booked a SYD-LST return but I'm going to have to miss that tomorrow due to a change in schedule and non flexible ticket and lose the double status credits..
As I said... still learning!

Hi All,
I booked a number of DSC flights for the first half of the year, just had to change one in March (Saver fare) to a week earlier, any thoughts on whether the DSC will transfer to my new booking date?

I made 2 separate booking SYD-OOL-SYD and OOL-MEL-OOL. You are unable to book it any other way as the VA website doesn't allow Multi City booking

As per the response from VFF ,

Hi guys,

One of the questions being asked is whether double Status Credits will be earned if the booking dates/times are changed after the 18-31 December 2013 booking period.

You will earn double Status Credits even if you change the booking. Provided the booking was created between 18/31 December 2013, for travel on an eligible flight within the eligible travel period, members will still earn double status credits.

If you change to an ineligible flight (eg. codeshare) – you won’t earn double SC’s.
If you change to a date outside of the eligible travel period (eg. after 1 July 2014) – you won’t earn double SC’s.

Hope that clarifies!

Happy holidays all!

Hi All,
I booked a number of DSC flights for the first half of the year, just had to change one in March (Saver fare) to a week earlier, any thoughts on whether the DSC will transfer to my new booking date?

Handy to re-read the VFF response above, as I had booked a BNE/ADL Saver and ADL/BNE Flexi in the eligible period, only to change the outbound 2 weeks ago to a Flexi using a credit shell I had. Then allowed me to utilise 2 of my 3 remaining upgrades.

Flew the sectors yesterday, so looking forward to Double SC's for the paid Flexi's.

I've booked SYD - OOL - MEL - PER & vice versa for March. Looking at the booking now & I was booked PER - MEL on 26/3 VA676. Now that flight is being shown as FLOWN & now they've got me on a red eye the night before on VA696. I didn't want to go on a red eye.

For unrelated reasons, I am thinking of cancelling this entire booking. I especially don't want to do a red-eye, even though I upgraded to J on points MEL - PER - MEL.

EDIT: I'm thinking of a 1 or 2 day status run instead of a week long trip now.

I ended up cancelling the run. I could not get it to work for when I wanted to so I cancelled it. I'm on 815 SC now & have already requalified for Gold. I have an SYD - AUH - SYD in June with the DSC still current. I should be able to do another SC run before I leave to get to WP before I leave for the June trip & I also have an ORC pending for part of the US trip.

The points that I used for MEL - PER - MEL in J I've used towards J for the AUH run instead.

Completing status run today OOL-SYD-MEL-SYD-OOL. VA500 from OOL-SYD run on E190. Was in J, and amazed to see the cabin was 100% full. Guessed 1 pax was staff however.
