SMS Flight Update

I received an SMS most recently on 25th October when my flight SYD-MEL was to be delayed by over an hour, so it's still apears to be operational.

What particular flight was "cancelled"? (Date, Flight number)

Don't think it was cancelled (at least not showing Cancelled on the flight dep board)

I was originally booked on QF 427 1100 SYD-MEL (7 NOV), when I arrived at the airport I discovered I had been moved to QF 425 1030 SYD-MEL.

QF425 and QF427 both operated on Saturday; QF427 did depart around ¼ hour late.

Thanks for that, I guess that could explain why I was moved to the earlier flight.
Usually the SMS updates have been pretty good from QF,I guess just got the exception to the rule.
