Not really surprising that not a single US airline made the list, and confirms my experience that VA is the best out of a bad lot to LAX (excepting Qantas)

CX claimed the no.1 spot this year while QF is not even in the top 10.
Best F class winner is SQ.
Best J class winner is QR.
Best Y class winner is OZ.
QF F lounges are only at no.9 on the list.

If I look in depth, Qantas does make it into top 10 for Best First Class as well as for Best Business Class.

The first list of Top 20 gives, to me, an overview.

Surprised there's no rating for catering/meals.

I would look at this list frequently when planning trips, ESP. for flights and lounges.

When they put Garuda at no.7 they lost credibility to me.
They lost credibility when they rated BA's F lounges ahead of those of QF's. Seriously, the CCR ahead of QF F in SYD or MEL? Are they serious??

What about AF F lounge taking the top spot?
Now at least we know where all their money goes. If they would just invest some of it to make sure their planes work properly...

Well, I haven't been to the AF F lounge so I don't want to pass judgment on it. But I have been to both of BA's CCRs and the QF F lounge in MEL, and I'd definitely take QF over either of BA's CCRs. The JFK CCR is actually a nice lounge, enjoyed it. The LHR CCR is an overcrowded pit of mediocrity, it isn't even in the top 7 of F lounges I've personally been to. It needs to be doubled in size at a minimum and have its bathrooms refurbished to a standard beyond that of a petrol station.

It's certainly not in pilot training

The problem with these types of surveys is the people that vote in them have a different opinion to mine. The results won't affect the airline I choose to fly.

Don't worry, it's not aimed at you.

The problem is the criteria Skytrax use to define the world best airlines is different to the one most of us use.

I understand but airlines such as Virgin Australia think that if they bombard enough people asking them to vote for them then somehow it is going to generate more business for them?
