That’s interesting. Qantas has separated us though, just because they can. But payment won’t fix that.
Yep. My mother and I were booked on same PNR in j Domestic. Until the morning of the trip. At the airport I didn’t realize anything had changed until I went to QP Bus lounge and it was the host who picked up we were separated and asked if that was correct. (She took a look at mum who was in her eighties and blind.). She had no explanation as to why we’d need changed.Intentionally seating families apart? My experience is the opposite when I have paid to be seated apart and they have allocated us to sit together.
I just think the airlines have inadequate systems in place to handle seating but also more and more people having status or paying to pre-allocate seats making it more difficult to be consistent.
I flew Ryanair a lot when I lived in the UK and I always wondered why they didn't automatically fill up middle seats first and then give you the option to pay to get out of them.
