Use it to upgrade a single flight under 1200 miles, or just let it expire unused?

Are they transferrable? Could this be used to do someone a good turn?

i'd guess is possible to "spend" it on someone from the forum... however from a legal point of view, i believe i am breaking a rule or three here..

anyone know how or whether qantas does police such gift notion?

btw, i am all for building good karma.. =)

i've got no fligt coming up in the forseeable future, hence the question

To summarize the previous posts -

You need to locate a 'relative' who is travelling somewhere on Qantas 'metal' with a Qantas flight number on a flight < 1200 miles before 31st May.

They must NOT be booked in O, Q or N class.

I managed to use my last remaining UC earlier this month. I thought I was going to be giving it an eligible family member, and was right - just that the eligible family member was me :D .

Well done. I lost a few unable to use (either already in the highest cabin or flight too long needing more UCs than I had).

I was expecting to give it to my cousin to use (yes, he is actually my cousin), but I had a last minute request to travel to SYD, so my UC was used one way and 5000 FFP the other way.

When still a SG I unsuccessfully tried to use up my UC's on longhaul flights LAX-MEL and LHR-MEL, but must have been too many WP's in the upgrade queue ahead of me. Pity that I didn't still have some as a WP (darn expiry dates). Most of mine went on MEL-SYD and MEL-BNE upgrades.
