Hi,

I have a question that I am hoping someone can answer!

I am planning to book a 1st class ticket from Singapore to Sabah. As the flight is code share with Malaysian (it is a Malaysia airlines flight) I wanted to know if I have Lounge Access. I was hoping to access the Singapore Lounge but I am unsure if I am able to since the flight is not actual with Singapore Airlines.

Thanks

Ann

As long as you have an SQ flight number your covered.

The Singapore Airlines lunges are not spectacular - just functionsl. They've not spent money on them as they'll be moving to T3 when its complete - and then we should be in for a treat!

I wasn't aware that you had to be accredited in duelling 101 to attain Singapore Airlines lunge access?

No wonder the lovely lounge dragons have a mop handy.

I've been in one of the SQ first class lounges at Singapore and it was very good - great decor, good food and drink, business centre, nice shower facilities etc. I haven't been in a QF first class lounge to compare but it was easily better than the QF business class lounges I've been in.

Welcome to AFF annann :)

Does the flight have an SQ (Singapore Airlines) flight number? If so then you can visit the very nice First Class Silver Kris lounge at SIN, if not then the Malaysia lounge (which is right next door) will have to do - but that one is not as nice.

I'm not sure why AlwaysUpThere doesnt like the SQ lounge. IMHO its a lot better than any Qantas First Class lounge, not as nice as Lufthansa's first class terminal at FRA but still very very good.

Hi

Thanks for all your replies, yes i do have a Singapore Flight Number, so I guess it means I will get to try out the 1st class lounge and compare it to the Qantas lounges I am use to. Being a Qantas Club member I always book QF/Oneworld, which really stops one for experiencing other airlines/lounges etc, so it's great when once in a while you have no choice!

Thanks again

Ann

Mainly because it is older and dated and not very different from their Business Class Lounge.

Once you been to CX's Wing and Pier, there is no turning back as far as lounge product.

SQ lounges in other ports (eg ICN) are MUCH nicer - not as large but nicer - than their home base. As I said, it will all change when they shift terminals to the new T3.

Any lounge has got to be better than having a beer sitting on a stool in a bar/bistro. :?

There's a big difference between SIN SKL Raffles and First lounges. Agree with you that ICN SKL F is pretty good.

Hi AnnAnn. I have done this flight in both directions. the first class option is really a J class seat on their 737 planes....The seats aren't as good as the SQ F flights between SIN and KUL but the 2X2 seating gives you some peace and quiet as the back of the plane is normally jam packed.

KKL airport is relatively primitive, outdoor security and check in area which means you'll get wet if its raining and theire a queue.

They have a Malaysian Airlines lounge with you can use if coming back, but this is also a little sparse -- but much better than the general facilities. As a top tourist desitnation (and one of my favourites - shame on Qantas for pulling the AO flights) I hope the airport will improve soon

Do you mean KUL airport?

I was there twice last year and don't remember security or check-in being outside, everything is undercover. After entering the main building the only time you are outside is travelling in a train that has a roof to get from main building to the terminal.

Don't understand the reference to getting wet waiting in a queue. :? Unless I am dreaming about my experiences in KUL. :(

I just Googled this up:
KKL Karluk Lake, AK [Karluk Lake Seaplane Base], USA :?

Definitely not meaning KUL. It does not meet the description.

KKL is Karluk Lake in USA, so that does not match the topic.

I have lost the topic somewhere along the way then.

Mentioned Malaysian Airlines, SIN-KUL, Sabah. Suppose he is referring to Sabah airport as QF/AO used to fly there but no more. Is security and check-in out in the open at Sabah?
