Don't you qantas use the SATS premium checkin near the West end of T1 check-in hall? (Left after entering)

[Currently at the QF Business lounge but I have carry-on only and used OLCI.]

Sorry yes its a SATS lounge isnt it.
Confused it with Dnata.

So do gold members get to use that as well?

When I was there in Oct, it was odd – the signs indicated that only F, J and WP pax of the participating airlines could use the premium check-in area, with Gold appearing on the Premium Economy check-in boards along with PS & QP.

I was going to send an email asking why this is the case, but as my J upgrade came through, I was welcomed into the premium area without issue.

No, it's for First, Business, and oneworld Emerald passengers only, why that is so I suspect is because of its capacity.

In SIN, SG joins the rugby scrum with the masses, where only F, J, and WP (OWE) or above can use the premium check-in lounge. Similar arrangements exist for BA, while CX officially forgoes the premium lounge altogether - everyone has to go line up at their respective counters.
