hi all I am heading to Japan and was wondering what is the best sim card for use in Japan, thanks in advance

I got the Simsdirect one, prior to when I went to NZ.
Easy to set up, just buy from the website, and then you use your phones camera to scan the QR code in the email from them, very fast.
First trip to NZ, when I turned my phone on, was able to connect to 2deg NZ straight away.
2nd trip to NZ, it wouldnt link, but then I found the reason why, after I recharged with a 2deg outlet, I found out, I needed to go to the 2deg app, and transfer the credit I had bought, to gb data.
Cant say about Airalo, or Lemon.
Simsdirect, is just the seller, so who ever sign you see next to signal, when you turn your phone on, in Japan, is the one you deal with.
You might be able to keep the esim # by going to the Japan website of the provider, and recharge maybe 1000 yen, about Aud$15 to keep the number alive.

I have never experience any issues with Lemon, so always simply re-order.

Cannot comment on the others.
thanks Con , sounds good to me , out of interest what data pack do you use. I am in Japan two weeks and just want to be able to use Google maps for finding my way round
