JAL 777-300ER back on Sydney route

Oh sorry. I was searching through April and May which are the absolute highest peak season of any JP travel all year.

I just assumed the rest of the months would be the same if the busiest peak had it all showing.

Perhaps they haven't loaded the latter months?
I can see some HND-SYD F seats in October, so maybe they missed a block 😭

This makes sense as August sees high demand from JMB members redeeming miles to get out of the country during summer holidays and particularly Obon.
If the change was announced a few weeks ago, it could be anyone's guess (now) if availability was loaded in the first place.
There are certainly some JL F routes that don't always load F awards as soon as the calendar opens.

The return HND to SYD leg is confusing and I'd love some brains trust advice.

Approx 48 hours ago I happened to check the award calendar and there was one way - HND to SYD flights bookable in F as a stand alone search (NOT a return) on almost every single day for 6 months of next year. Less than 12 hours later 95% of that 'one way' availability disappeared.

Prior to the disappearance of the space though, I was trying to add a HND - SYD leg to an existing JFK - HND JL F award I have booked but multiple agents couldn't see it. I know it wasn't phantom space either because I successfully booked a separate HND - SYD leg on a different nearby date as a stand alone one way booking which ticketed immediately.

Interestingly enough there was no issue adding the newly available SYD - HND leg to my existing HND - DFW JL F award. It was only the return that was an issue.

Does anyone know what the go is? Its frustrating because now even though the One way search shows no availability (like it did 48 hours ago) a return search DOES show the date I am looking for as available. Unfortunately I am only getting through to the off shore call centers who have been incredibly frustrating to deal with. If I was to get through to Hobart is this something they could help with?

Also, hypothetically if I had just gone ahead and booked the SYD-HND as a connection for the JFK-HND flight as a separate ticket when it was showing as available (that the agents couldn't see) would it have been possible to later get the 2 bookings combined and repriced as one ticket (less then 24 hours between the flights) since i had technically secured seats on both segments? I understand how married segment rules work but those dont seem to be the issue here.
