Here is, I hope, the thread to share all our opinions and stories about... shubs. For the less experienced amongst us, that's the combination of bathtub with a shower overhead that is still extremely common in hotels all around the world.
I guess some of us have unfortunately had the odd slip in a shub, hopefully not paralysing.
The odd thing is that many of us are old enough to have put up with shubs for such a long time. They are not in mode anymore - straightforward walk-in showers (potentially with a separate bathtub) are common now. I would bet it is more that walk-in showers save space over shubs more than any perceived safety factors.
But for a long time, everyone put up with shubs, with or without a rubber floor mat.
I believe most Japanese hotels still have shubs, but then Japanese bathe quite differently to most of us, except maybe the new generation (viz. most Japanese do shower but not standing up).
So... do you shnub the shub?
