Sorry if this has already been covered - searching this forum didn't seem to help.
My November Jetstar booking to/from HNL does not show on my QFF "Your Bookings" page. When I try to add it using the reference number, QFF says I (my surname) am not the registered traveller with this booking number (have double and triple checked ref number against Jetstar confirmation.)
Is there something wrong here or is there a basic incompatability between Jetstar bookings and the Qantas Frequent Flyer database?
I definitely included my QFF number when initially booking the Jetstar Honolulu flights.

They don't, but to answer the thread's title, I reckon they should.

I think that JQ uses a system that's incompatible with QF though, so that's why they can't? It's crazy.

Thank you both for your fast responses.

I agree. If my qantas frequent flyer number is on the booking, then, logically, I think it should show up on my QFF "your bookings".

I've heard the same thing, and had the same issue. JQ uses a different booking engine than QF and hence why the JQ bookings don't show up in Your Bookings.

Doesn't really matter though as you can still get the points/miles if flying an applicable JQ fare class.

I agree.

Yes they should.

But due to the software, no they don't.

But you can log onto my bookings on JQ site and see your booking, choose seating etc...

Mr!

I had a recent QF booking which involved 2 Jetstar flights. All four flights showed up on My Bookings including the JQ sectors. Unfortunately due to this, I was unable to do online check in for the QF sectors, simply because the JQ sectors got in the way.

Note the QF booking reference number is totally different to the JQ booking reference number.

eg: had an award flight ticketed by QF on JQ metal and it had both a QF and JQ PNR.

They are different airlines with the same owner - they are not integrated airlines - why should they provide for competitor systems?

They arent part of the same alliance, have different cost structures, different entitlements so why integrate web tech when the actual things about the airlines are so different?

Yes they are different airlines, however they are certainly not completely independent.

Why do QF come to the rescue when JQ have U/S aircraft stranded abroad?

Why do JQ push bigtime the "Qantas Group Airline" slogan in all of their Japanese advertising?

They want to be independent but the reality is they can never be independent with the same master.

Skoda, Volkswagen, Audi and Bentley are all owned by the same company essentially but I wouldnt expect teh Skoda website to give me information on the delivery of my Bentley...

Yes, but would they double the Skoda outlets on the Gold Coast and stop selling Bentleys?

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

The only time Jetstar will share personal information (e.g. flight itineraries) with other Qantas group members, is when there is a requirement to do so in order to provide some service. So, if you have an itinerary with only Jetstar components, then there is no reason for Jetstar to provide this information to Qantas.

If you book an itinerary that has a connection with a QF flight, the QF will need to know about that where they provide a connecting service.

If booked through the Qantas web site would there not be a shadowing Amadeus reference?

Whilst different companies, I would have thought that it was smart to leverage the same IT in the back-ground to minimise cost?

Obviously I'm wrong.

Dont forget the models are different and the services needed to support those models are different so it may not be that simple.

Also QF may not want to make your QF/JQ experience seamless to keep the profit streams pure.
