Should I swap my JASA to Europe with USDM/LM redemption?

I'm planning for a holiday trip to Europe, and so far has only booked a JASA-M (Marginal, pre-new-website) one way SYD-MEL-DXB-LHR for April 2014 for around 128k points + ~700$. Now, in the light of the latest buy miles offer from USDM or Lifemiles, I figure that I can actually get the same flights for about the same cost (assuming QFF points is worth ~1cpm) - probably even in F class.

Now the JASA was booked as business flex, so fully refundable. I'm wondering if I should just cancel it, buy some lifemiles and book a TG F return flight instead, and save the QFF points for upgrades Y->J SYD-CGK or SYD-SIN (~24k oneway) or other flights where it has better value. Any thoughts?

Note that TG only flies F from Sydney.
Also, I would suggest getting a lifemiles account first and checking availability for the dates you want.
I've recently booked SYD-CDG in F during April 2014 and it wasn't easy to find suitable availability, unless you are flexible.

I would leave it, J in the A380 via DXB is hardly doing it tough, in fact with the F lounge in SYD and DXB I would say its probably not really worse than anything you can buy through miles.

Availability so far seems good for TG F from SYD, and even better on J class. The other alternative is to fly to SIN (or other Asian hubs) first, and get the F redemption from there.

Also, it seems that I won't be requalifying WP next year, so I won't be able to access the F lounge on the day of travel if flying QF...
