It's your ideas I find contemptuous. You personally I could not care less about.

It has already been noticed. Incumbent anyone? Not to worry. The day I am not allowed to think for myself is the day of the end of society as we know it.

So what do you advocate as a solution, JohnK? Enough of the weasel words and passive-aggressive sarcasm. Say it out loud.

No one here has said terrorism isn't a problem, that's a total straw man.

Terrorism is a problem transcending all politics and religions. Wherever it happens.

Let's not forget Putins invasion of Ukraine. Anybody disagree with this? NOTA BENE if you do you are sitting in a Russian city "mega factory doing Troll work in broken English. "

It's your ideas I find contemptible and contemptuous. You personally I could not care less about.

No need to use such language. Keep it civilised please.

I have a personal interest in this thread, that's all. I am basing my opinion solely on what he had contributed to this thread. The fact that he posted more than 32,000 times does not impress me in the least.

The day that even the feeblest of opinions is allowed to go entirely unchallenged is the end of society as we know it.

Probably our old friends who have been blocked before resurrected with new username.

junbugging, I appreciate that your heart is in the right place, but you perhaps need to select your battles a little more judiciously. I also do not agree with most of what has been said here, but please recognize that this is just a very small corner of a small forum and not necessarily a good indication of general public opinion. There is a natural selection bias that leads certain people to post here, but you will notice that in fact only a tiny percentage of members have participated.

In the interest of adding some balance. Mohammed Ali is a very good and smart man.

Call for fair reporting on recent bombings | The RiotACT

They were pointing out that the Taliban, Al Qaeda and ISIS kill many more Muslims than Christians and they gently point out that we, in Australia, have an unfortunate bias towards the reporting of attacks on Christians and don’t give prominence to the killing of Muslims by these fanatics.

Diana pointed out that in 1995, there was a massacre in Srebrenica of almost 10,000 Muslims and very little reportage. She asserts, and I agree with her, that had they been Christians, we would have had a media meltdown (my words). She says that the habitual reporting of Islamic State, Taliban and Al Qaeda atrocities as “Muslims against non-Muslims” was part of the problem.

Her language of condemnation of these fanatics could not be more strident.

I repeat for you,

There has been great effort taken in keeping this thread less religious and with more travel orientation. However it is impossible at times as the two are occasionally politically linked. But we try anyway. We do not attack anyone or any religion but we do like the truth! We all know that the truth hurts. The information here is what is reflected in the wider world & peoples observations. Abdul!! there is nothing stopping you from starting a thread and ignoring this one. Many people choose their threads and so should you.

I invite you to start your own selection bias with a tiny percentage of people participating!

Why do you bother writing if it's a very small corner of a small forum. You are actually offending everyone that's participated. Articles in this thread have been quoted from mainstream media including BBC, ABC, WSJ! Are these too not a good indicator of the wider world ? Sick you are calling this a battle. Enjoy the freedoms here in Australia we fought tooth and nail for.

[mod hat] It seems that a few have to spoil things again. A little latitude was allowed but some don't know when to stop.
Do we need to close this thread OR can common sense be relied upon and we go back to the topic?
Further OT comments will be removed. [/mod hat]

I find that response entirely unwarranted and condescending. I do hope that you can see the irony of attempting to quash my participation. I am quite confident that my family has suffered more at the hands of Muslim extremists (including in Europe and its near neighbors) than those of most of this forum. Australia has seen fit to bestow citizenship upon me. Australian universities have seen fit to bestow honorary doctorates upon me. So like it or not, I am here to stay. Or at least will be, after I get back from viewing cherry blossoms and an entirely fear-free trip to Belgium and Turkey.

Straitman please close the thread and please note for the record that there was only one person who actually muttered the word "Anti-Muslim". ( many times)

Some people get it some don't.

Thanks Straitman

For me I would be happy for the the Mods to close the thread. IMO it has gone well past the original question and has strayed into politics and name calling. I have not participated by posting as I disagree with many of the comments and do not want to be embroiled in a tit for tat exercise. I think the thread has run its course well and truly.YMMV.

Not to mention Crimea, and half a dozen other former Russian enclaves..
