If it's a 'safety' razor, I believe you should be fine.
I carry a MACH 3 on board with no problems.What would define a safety razor? I have a theEssentials.com - SensorExcel Razor
I too use a Gillette SensorExcel - no problems with carry-on. And to answer your question about what a safety razor is - any cartridge type razor fixed or pivoting, reusable or disposable is considered a safety razor - the ones that are considered unsafe and would not be permitted in hand luggage are the open blade old style razors - either fixed blade or using disposable blade inserts.Flashware said:What would define a safety razor? A sfatey razor is one in which the skin is protected from all but the edge of the blade. This is pretty much all the razors on the market, except the cut throat.

Airline lounge supplied razors can be scary things.
I was also under the impression that razors (of any type) were considered a sharp so not allowed on board aircraft (in cabin baggage).
As long as it is a safety razor, and not the type of blade that JohnK mentions, then you will be fine.I was under the same impression, however I accidentally put the razor in my toiletries bag one time and only realised when I got to the other end. Have packed my razor in the same way ever since, however I don't know how that would go internationally.. I've only done so for domestic trips.
It is one of the main reasons I have to check luggage even for short trips. As long as it is a safety razor, and not the type of blade that JohnK mentions, then you will be fine.
