From NineMSN: Senate to hold Jetstar inquiry

A parliamentary committee will on Tuesday hold a public hearing into the impact of the proposed Qantas sale on the airline's cut-price subsidiary, Jetstar.

The Senate's standing committee on economics will meet at 9am (AEDT) to investigate provisions of the Qantas Sale (Keep Jetstar Australian) Amendment Bill 2007.

The bill was put forward by Family First senator Steve Fielding in an attempt to ensure Jetstar and other Qantas subsidiaries remain Australian if the flying kangaroo is sold to foreign investors.
