Seemingly comped Silver status

Do they comp QC too?

From post online here - paid Qantas Club membership are one thing that tend, if ever, to be comped - means you have to keep an eye on things and hurry up and renew!

Mind you, I sit gloatfully here with lifetime QC membership - something they have done away with now.

Additional Status credits required by 30 Sep 2011 to attain Gold: 700

But what status were you before the reset? And how does that relate to this, 700 is the correct SC’s for Gold. Unless you were short and they also gave you a free upgrade… :?:

I am a Qantas Club Silver, of which my QC expired last week, I still have Silver status til May next year.
In my frequent flyer section it still says Qantas Club Silver, does that mean I still have it?

I just totally forgot to renew my QC, as I expected they would have sent me some sort of communication to say my QC was expiring soon?

I have heard that you could be given a few months, or a few days, to pay up, but I wouldn’t just sit there waiting for that if you need lounge access.

Also, they would have sent you mail telling you your paid membership was going to run out, they have done for me in the past. Are you sure you haven’t paid for 2 years, not 1 year?

If you need/want QC membership, I’d renew soon, as after you lose it you’ll have to pay the joining fee again.

I don't think my account has properly reset yet, as although it is showing the amount needed to 'attain' gold it doesn't show the amount to 'retain' silver.

From a colleague's past experience, QF extended his QC access for 1 month after the expiry date.

I'd say a glitch, although I can't imagine how it would have happened.

What will be interesting is if they go through the whole fulfilment exercise and send samh004 a card

I'm NB on 280 points for the year and the system is telling me I only need 20 to attain Silver....nice if it's true! I'll be keeping an eye on it for the next few days!

Undeserved Silver Status

Hi all,
Question.

It seems like I've been given QF Silver status for no apparent reason. I'm 45 SC away from Silver (which I will be attaining by November 30 2010, when my cycle should turn over)... but it seems like I've now been granted an extra year to get 395 SC to hit Gold... for some magical mysterious reason.

has this ever happened to anybody else? I posted a screenshot of it since I realise what I said may not make any sense.

There seems to be a glitch on the website, advising people they only need 300SC to attain silver. There is another thread on this: http://www.australianfrequentflyer....ram/seemingly-comped-silver-status-25711.html, where samh004 has reported being advised of being a silver

Is it just me or does this "glitch" extend past the comping of Silver.. I seem to be unable to locate my status credit tally and my year doesn't end until December?

I can't even find that bit where it tells you how many status credits before your next loyalty bonus.

Checked Mrs Sequels account, reset to 0SC's 1 October, but states 300 SC's required to get PS.

Well i just called QFF customer service, the guy tells me it is not in error and the SC's required to reach silver have been shifted slightly. Now 300 attain, 250 to retain.

I'm tempted to wait a while and call again to make sure he's right I had planned a return trip to CBR to make it to 350 sc's, but it seems i wont need to now

It seems many of the one world airlines are tweeking their FF programs so this is not a surprise, I wonder what else is being tweeked!
