My son has relocated to Kansas for his college, and he used to be on Amaysim here, prepaid sim, no monthly cost, add credit, and pay as you go. his spend was less than AUD$5 per month.

He is struggling to find anything in the US that is close to that with a US number. Has anyone come across anything like this? He wants a US phone number and due to his location in the country, it needs to be AT&T network GSM.

I believe there are low cost operators that resell AT&T network?

Was looking at Freeupmobile but you need a US credit card for that :(

There are low costs resellers, but they aren't necessarily exactly the same. AT&T network consists of their own cells plus 3rd-party towers they made deals with. AT&T reseller sims don't necessarily get the non AT&T towers, which affects coverage

The gsm network in the us is made up of AT&T and T-mobile. He tried t-mobile and it has zero coverage in his area. So I think AT&T towers will be just fine ;)

A few resellers are listed here:

Most seem to be around $20 per month with unlimited calls/texts and some data however there are a few that are around $10.

Free up mobile exceeded my expectations. They shipped my son the sim for free waiving the delivery fee because there was no way to pay them (without a credit card with a us billing address)

That’s customer service! Qantas take note!!!
