Recently got an alert, was only 1 seat available and I need 2. Until that seat is taken I can't set up a new alert for that date.

you need the paid version, you can specify how many seats you want when setting up an alert

True for some carriers, but not for QF at present.

Nor aircanada's aeroplan which they used to show. Wonder why they stopped or if it was related to the court case ie wanted to be more lowkey with their scraping etc?

Air Canada recently changed their back end in an attempt to break all award search tools.
