Hi all

Just a quick question as usual. I am on QF48 tomorrow afternoon travelling in whY WLG-SYD. EF is showing the flight as 0, X or C in all classes so I am thinking full flight.

On expert flyer the seat map is showing (Key: A - available, U - unavailable, X - Blocked)
ABC DEF

4 UXU UXA
5 UXU UXA

I am currently in 4C and trying to work out if I have a free seat next to me...

On the QF website I can see

4 UUU UUA
5 UUU UUA

And my colleague (NB) can see

4 UUU UUU
5 UUU UUU

Any insights into this flight and seating?

There are some other oddities as well such as all but 5 seats are free for him and all but 8 for me. For both of us 13B is free (13ACDEF are unavailable to both of us). The oddest one is that 17B is free for me and blocked for him - I assume that this is where a WP has requested a seat block but due to the fullness of the flight the blockage might not hold.

I am almost wondering if I might get my first QF op-up... unlikely though with J0...

Sounds like your WP shadow is currently in 4B. but if showing 0, X or C in all classes, expect 4B to be occupied along with the rest of the seats by a passenger of more substance than your shadow.

That's what I was expecting. Sat in the class paid for the amount of space paid for. Might need to fill up on wine...

Next decision is whether to go through to the Int'l QP or stay in the DOM until the last minute...

I'd say that as no seats were showing in availability but there were still about 20 seats blocked/unoccupied, the flight was capped at a certain figure for weight restrictions.

It's not uncommon for load control to block forward seats for trim if required.

If I could ask regarding international flights;
I am exactly a week away from my upcoming international flight; I checked my booking on the Qantas website a few minutes ago and saw that I had the option of selecting my seat.

I am a QFF bronze member, traveling in economy (V class).

I have requested a window seat, although the only available seats showing up on the website's seat selector are middle seats.

Should I try my luck and wait until check in to see if I have been allocated a window seat, or should I select a non-window seat over the internet?

Cheers.
